Context, Context, Context

Context, Context, Context

In much the same way as the three most important parts of real estate are location, location and location, the three most important parts of the technical side of understanding your dreams are context, context and context.

What is context? Context is looking at the details of the dream in light of the big picture. Just as a news network can completely change what a politician means by taking one sound bite from a speech, so can you misinterpret a dream by interpreting a detail without looking at how it fits into the big picture surrounding it.

What does a cat mean in a dream? Generally, a cat would mean an independent spirit. But the context of that cat’s presence in your dream plays a huge part in how you interpret the dream. Are you inviting the cat to sit on your lap? Are you playing with the cat? Running away from the cat? Throwing the cat out of a speeding car? Sorry cat lovers…but that actually might be a good dream.

If you would like to receive training and discipleship in the area of dream interpretation, Streams offers several products and resources, training courses and online programming depending upon your level of interest and the time you have available to learn.
