The Tabernacle and Spiritual Reassessment

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.” Romans 8:1-5

By now you are probably thinking you are near the end of this journey - wrong! The deeper things are yet to be absorbed. However, in order to absorb everything, at the most optimal rate, every once in a while you must stop and reassess where you have been and where you are in light of the Journey. Often, it is these simple moments of reassessment that opens the deeper mysteries. It is time for you to seize that moment.

GREAT MYSTERY

The Tabernacle was a great mystery for the Hebrew children and it must have been an even stranger sight for those on the outside who knew nothing about it. Just watching the six thousand men it took to break down, move, and set up the tabernacle was intimidating in its self, not to mention the Pillar of Fire that some think reached up three hundred feet into the Sky. God sure knows how to make His presence known. At the same time you have probably wondered, like many of us, why God does not do more signs and wonders like this. It is my suspicion that it is not God that has changed, but us. But, I have digressed from the topic at hand.

When you walk through the interior of the Tabernacle it preserves a certain sense of majesty and Awe. Then, as you enter the Rooms of Mystery, or Sanctuary, that sense of Awe is magnified hundreds of times. The fact is, in the truest sense, the palpable presence of mystery and Awe increases with each step you take. The spiritual wonder that all who enter here experience eclipses words and yet the basics are easily explained. It is the intensifying atmosphere of God’s presence that becomes the inexplicable. One has to experience it to fully understand the difficulty of the finite trying to explain the infinite. Mere words fall light years short of even coming close to expressing this moment.

THE LAW AND THE SPIRIT

The two covered rooms you are in, also represent the Law and Spirit. In the Holy Place, the room you were in just before the Veil that separates it from the Holy of Holies rose, you were expected to follow the letter of the Law. Thus, perseverance, intellect and passion were greatly needed in order to unlock the understanding of the laws, statutes, and ordinances that tell you what you can and cannot do. Therefore, in order to strictly follow the Law, the soul became greatly valued.

MAN GETS HIS DESIRE

Adam and Eve thought they could come close to God and even become god-like through the noesis gained from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Thus, in returning mankind to Himself, God let man start by using the soul they so errantly thought they needed. It was as if God said, “If mankind wants to serve Me through their soul, I’ll let them try it. The result was three hundred and sixty plus laws that it took a genius to figure out, not to mention the ebbs and flows of passion and raw stubbornness that it took to carry out the rigorous demands of the Law.

THE MYSTERY OF THE HEART

However, you are not in the Holy Place, you are now in the Holy of Holies. Here in the Holiest of all the Rooms, where God who is Spirit and Light dwells, the Law is not seen, though it is present. Where is it? It’s inside the heart of the Ark of the Covenant and in a strangely mystical way, it has been making its way into your heart from the moment you entered the Tabernacle. If you step back and study the layout of the Tabernacle, you will see that the Law is encased inside the deepest room of all the rooms, the room inside the Ark. You cannot get inside this room, but it can, and will, get inside you.

Henceforth, as the prophets of old wrote, the law gets written on your heart and not on tablets of stone. The transfer from stone to flesh has been made. Once this occurred, man would no longer need to worship God through their soul, but with their spirit - God longed for this day to come, however, in His justice He could not do so until Jesus - in the fullness of time, justified the transfer. This is what the apostle Paul was expressing in Romans 8 and many other places as he wrote about the Law and the Spirit.

The Journey you have been on through the Tabernacle depicts that transfer or transition and that transition has transformed you. Until you entered this Room of Spirit, it was hard to understand the importance of this Holy Transition. Now you are a little more enlightened, but only a little, as there are volumes of understanding yet to be gleaned.

SPIRITUAL INACCESSABILITY

Thus you find the Holy Place and the Outer Court is about the Stone Tablets of the Law, while the Holy of Holies is concerned with the Spirit of the Law. For a time the two Rooms were separated by a Veil (and you thought we’d never get to this topic - well, we’re closer). By its weighty presence and beauty alone, the Veil kept the Soul in it’s place and sadly, at the same time, it kept the Spirit in its place as well. One might broadly say that with the tearing of the flesh of Jesus, the Holy Spirit could come to write on your heart. Until that tearing took place, the Spirit had little access to our spirit. More on that topic in another posting.

IMAGO DEI

You might remember, if you have been following this blog, that in some of my earliest writings on this topic we discovered the Tabernacle is both a depiction of the construct of Heaven and of God; simultaneously it is also a construct of man made in the “imago dei” or image of God. Therefore, if you continue that line of thought, the dimension of the Tabernacle’s layout and your layout is similar.

Now the shocker - the soul is larger than the spirit - about one third larger, and it loves to use its bulk to rule. In fact, your soul is a “bully” and if it cannot rule by deception, it will rule through compulsion. Thus the Law and the Soul found themselves inextricably twisted together for about fifteen hundred years. The Flesh or Carnal nature formed by this cohesion would only be undone by the tearing of the flesh of the ONE who had not succumbed to the souls rule. So we find, the sacrifice of the Holy in order to change by reversal the bondage of the profane.

Said another way, prior to the giving of the law, man followed God with the flesh, meaning man followed God in various and sundry carnal ways. The result was the Flood of Noah and later the Tower of Babel. Subsequently, with the giving of the Law, man would follow God with his soul - mind, will, and emotions. So man was left to search out the various laws, ordinances, statutes, that were given and intellectually find a way to live within them. However, with the fulfillment or the word of the Prophets, the Law would be written inside you, on the tablets of the flesh of your heart. Until that change took place, the spirit of a man could not rule his soul nor his flesh and the battle raged on.

Then came Jesus.

Blessings,

John Paul Jackson

Wow.. this is intense and amazing. The soul is bigger.. Thank you John Paul.

    Then came Jesus.(Wow!)

“And He said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,.” Luke 24:44-45

I have wept and rejoiced through this particular blog for the last 2 hours (the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIGHT) and stared out the windows amazed thinking: Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!

-this journey brings in remembrance Hebrews 11:13 “All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth”….Thank you Father in Messiah Yeshua for everything, we worship YOU in SPIRIT and in TRUTH, Amen!

Yes, it’s easy to see now. It’s a beginning… Yet, it’s also an ending. It’s an ending – Yet, it’s also a beginning. What is it? It’s a divine paradox of understanding, resulting from the cumulative-effect of revelation that’s been imparted to me on this Journey through the Tabernacle.

It’s all coming together – solidifying within my mind, affecting my heart, awakening my spirit and further freeing me from a lifetime of “Soul rule.” At the same time enabling and empowering me to make the right choices. Choices that lead to Spirit rule. Yes, we all have a “choice.” As you have said: “You make your choice, and then your choice makes you.”

Yes … my choices, made by my soul, became consequences that sidetracked and distracted me, and kept me from seeing and understanding the core issues in my life. These consequences of my choices caused me to perpetually remain in a state of suspended-animation – where (in the past) I moved neither forward nor backward.

Paul’s words in Romans 8 take on a whole new meaning in light of this cumulative-understanding: “For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

The most important part: “If you step back and study the layout of the Tabernacle, you will see that the Law is encased inside the deepest room of all the rooms - the room inside the Ark. You cannot get inside this room, but it can, and will, get inside you. Henceforth, as the prophets of old wrote, the law gets written on your heart and not on tablets of stone.

The transfer from stone to flesh has been made. Once this occurred, man would no longer need to worship God through their soul, but with their spirit - God longed for this day to come, however, in His justice He could not do so until Jesus - in the fullness of time, justified the transfer.”

As the Word is written on our heart I can see more clearly than ever before that this is what Paul meant when he said: “He condemned sin in the flesh (so that) the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, (SO THAT) WE could walk NOT according to the flesh BUT according to the Spirit”

1500 years! I remember that line from “The Passion.” Jesus said, as He was carrying His Cross: “I make all things new!”

At least I am beginning to understand… Yet I know that there is SO MUCH MORE!

    Dear Friends:

As I was absorbing John Paul’s awesome post regarding the Holy of Holies and this vast spiritual transfer of wealth within our hearts from stone to flesh what a tremendous miracle for the heart of man regarding the inner working of the Holy Spirit, I was smelling the smoke of “HIS PRESENCE”. We are definitely in the “Holy of Holies”. I mean if you stop, pause and meditate on this “Kingdom Reality” that even though the soul is a little bit bigger than the spirit, this transfer allows the spirit to rule over the soul of man. There is a not only a transfer of stone to flesh but also one of power. Instead of the soul having power over the spirit of man, it is now the spirit of man that has power over the soul through the power of the Holy Spirit. This is “A HUGE REVELATION” straight from the throne room.

Back to the Smoke of His Presence:

    You wrote:

    My Response:

I had asked the Lord how does the “Holy of Holies” get inside of our hearts and He revealed to my heart, through “The Smoke of His Presence”. Lord, take me to the Holy of Holies, take me to the Holy of Holies, take me where I can see your lovely face, for I will worship you on a sea of glass with all the angels and saints, I will worship you!

    In His Love,

    John Paul:

I have a question concerning the “Holy of Holies” dwelling in the heart of man. If a believer who has been caught up into the throne room and experienced the awesome power of God and they carry that residue of heaven within their being and when other’s are around them is it possible for these other’s to experience where that person has been through a Holy trembling inside of them like an earthquake waiting to explode inside of themselves. Is that the effect that we should have on other’s as we experience these God encounters more and more each day? Just meditating on the mystery of the tabernacle.

Wow! I am so excited because the Lord has been teaching me extensively about the heart and its parts-the soul and spirit. The Lord told me to read this blog today for some reason, and now I know; and I am GLAD :)! This definitely was confirmation for me for some of the things that the Lord has showed me.

23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:23-24, NKJV)

6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.(2 Corinthians 4:6, KJV)

“…the soul is larger than the spirit - about one third larger, and it loves to use its bulk to rule” -John Paul Jackson

The soul has ‘bulk’ but no real substance - the Human Spirit has real substance…the apparent ‘bulk’ of the soul is an illusion of the fall…

    1 Corinthians 2:14,15

14 But the natural, non-spiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated.

15 But the spiritual man tries all things [he]examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him].

Do you know how God translates soulish bulk into spiritual substance? He simply Breathes.

Job 30:22 “You lift me up to the wind and cause me to ride; And You dissolve me in [the breath of your]storm.”

Becoming spiritual really is about weight-loss….and ironically, weight gain, that weight of glory.

    Shirley,

That paragraph: “However, you are not in the Holy Place, you are now in the Holy of Holies…You cannot get inside this room, but it can get inside of you.” grabbed my attention, too, and it is an awesome word to chew on…

I thought of another reassessment from the NT:

The cost of the precious perfume ointment in the alabaster box could be sold for more than 300 denari and you can feed the poor with it…. (soul thoughts–soul performance)

As we allow the Holy Spirit to reside inside us, we become that precious alabaster box with His perfume inside of us that lives to minister to HIM first—Our brokenness is what allows Him to pour forth…
    (spirit thought–spirit performance)

The items inside the ark are taking on a wonderful aroma…..I don’t think anyone will have to worry about sinus problems in the Holy of Holies. :)

I agree with y’all–”The Tabernacle and Spiritual Reassessment” was a “heavy posting…selah, selah, and more selah…

    Love,
    Linda :)

Speaking from an Evangelical perspective - our take on this is that when we ask Jesus into our lives in a Volitional sense - we simultaneously fulfill a number of Scriptures in the context of the ‘Ark of the [New] Covenant’ being formed in our Hearts and we ourselves becoming the [New] Ark of the Covenant - this is an established practice in Evangelical Spirituality, although the ‘mystical’ aspect is implicitly assumed rather than explicitly stated:

John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.

We read this as the preparation of the Human Heart, as much as we exegetically read this in a Heavenly Context.

    John 14:15-18

15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

Along with Pentecostals, we see the [trans]formation the [Ark of the] New Covenant in us being triggered by the Descent of the HOLY Spirit into the Human Heart [Human Spirit].

Psalm 104:30 When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth.

And we also strongly see this ‘tabernacling’ from a Trinitarian Perspective - both in terms of inward formation and in inward dwelling:

John 14:17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

“I think of Doubting Thomas or Didymus, meaning “twin” Jesus came to help us deal with the twin within.” - cm

This is very intersting language in distinguishing beween the Soulish man and the Spiritual man - the Soulish man for all his bulk is wasting away and the Spiritual man is being changed and renewed daily.

2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

I had asked the Lord how does the “Holy of Holies” get inside of our hearts and He revealed to my heart, through “The Smoke of His Presence”. - Shirley C.

I have spent hours in reflection on this one comment and I have decided that “the Smoke of His Presence” is the ‘Communion of Prayer’ of the Saints and that it is expressed in the following verses:

Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

Revelation 8:4 The smoke of the incense, mixed with the prayers of Saints, ascended up to God from the altar [of the human Heart] where the angel had poured them out.

It is just the most arresting comment…..

  14. Holly May 25th, 2010 12:10 pm

    Hey everyon,
We’re are now in a place that is bringing death to self. It is called poverty. But I believe this is a very needful place to be. I am witnessing urban poverty firsthand. And have had prison and homelessness to add to the experience. This is soo difficult but I see that the Lord is keeping the fire for the poor alive in me by keeping me one of them. I came from a good home and family. And everything has been ripped away. Yet I see the fire of God on us to preach the raw gospel is resulting. The poor parents of baby Jesus birthed him in a stable. And he talked a lot about the poor in his parables. People don’t want to focus on the poor because it is distasteful. And the raw gospel of the crucifixion is also distasteful. We need the fire of God and the complete destruction of the flesh to come to the true Apostolic that Paul walked in. There is a price to be paid. Death to self. So if anyone is still struggling and can relate I would like to hear from you. I am in the holy of holies too. “Mere words fall light years short…” This is my experience. My time in the holy of holies has had more other world dimensions to it I can’t even talk about most of it. But patience is still being formed in me. The suffering I see daily amongst the poor people around me, the lonliness, and brokenness - I know Jesus has not forgotten these little ones. That is why he thanked his father for hiding these things from the wise and prudent and revealing them to babes. I am learning that without the ability to even reach God that he is meeting me where I’m at and that he will reach us where we are at. I am not a spiritual genius right now. There are physical limits on me. But not on him. He will reach down to the very littlest one of us. And his glory is coming to these very simple people who have no possessions in this world. They will be the ones to turn the world upside down once again. Pray for more fire to come to the New England region. The wood is soo dry that a little spark is all that is needed to light this whole place on fire. The New Jerusalem is coming! It is here! In the homeless people there is a spirit that has rejected what this world has to offer. There is a spirit of patriotism in these New England Yankees. And in these Celtics, and those of Spanish blood and others. It is ancestral, brought down the blood line through their descendents. And this move of God is unlike anything the world has ever come close to seeing. Please keep this area and us in your prayers. Thank you, Blessings, Holly

  15. Mark Downham May 25th, 2010 2:49 pm

“But patience is still being formed in me” - Holly

    Utterly Radical.

Galatians 4:19 My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you,

2 Timothy 2:24 A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient in the face of wrong actions.

Patience forms Christ in us……just like the pangs of Childbirth.

  16. Shirley C. May 25th, 2010 5:19 pm

    Dear Holly:

Being from the dry wood’s of New England, I share your pain greatly and long to see revival in New England. It seems like God is in the middle of doing much interior work in His people at this time. Many people are in the middle of personal struggles and crisis. I see this everyday and based on where the wind blows, I have heard some of there stories and lived similar ones and have come to the conclusion that nothing remains unnoticed if God has anything to do with it. He has placed this state in a dark night of the soul to show us who we are not. And there are sparks emanating from the dry woods of New England. Soon it will ignite into the biggest bonfire in the Holy Ghost and it will be seen and experienced all around the world.

    To Mark:

When the Lord tapped me on the shoulder with heavy revvy, it blew my mind, lol. God is so good. Keep absorbing “the smoke of His Presence” and you’ll get to where the Lord wants you to be and you’ll stay there too. It’s all in the “Glory of His Love”.
    God Bless You!

    To Linda:

Keep chewing on the word, its better than juicy fruit gum, lol.

    In His Love,
    Shirley C.

  17. laydownyourcrown May 25th, 2010 5:19 pm

    Linda and Shirley c.,

I love how you both talked about the “smoke of His Presence” and the perfume poured forth from within us. This reminds me the OT burnt offerings, and how the smoke lifted up from the carcasses was always a “sweet aroma” unto the Lord.

When we die and lay ourselves upon the altar to be consumed by God’s refining fire, we are surrending all of our worth to Him–like the fragrance poured forth from the alabaster box. The Lord delights in this and to Him this is a sweet smelling aroma to see us die to self so that we may live in Christ.

I think even more important is that Christ did it first by laying His life down for us. I believe that the “smoke of His Presence” refers to the burnt offering of Jesus Christ as the Lamb without spot wrinkle or blemish for our sins:

“…as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.” (Ephesian 5:2 NKJV)

Being that Christ did this for us, we must also be prepared as a radiant church without spot wrinkle or blemish. This requires us to lay are lives on the altar daily to remove all impurities, so that we can come out as pure gold. Therefore, when we stand before Him and are put one final time through the refiner’s fire, the only smell coming from our bodies will be the smoke of His Presence. This is what it truly means to be a living sacrifice, holy, and ACCEPTED :) (Romans 12:1)

Mark, I also enjoyed the revelation the Lord gave you on the smoke of His Presence. We are currently learning about prayer in bible study, so that really spoke to me. I can’t wait to see what other revelations the Lord has shared with others :)

  18. laydownyourcrown May 25th, 2010 5:37 pm

    Holly,

I read your post after posting my post and I think you are the perfect example of someone who layed their life down on the altar of God. I say that you are definitely BLESSED because this is something that the rich young ruler couldn’t do and that many Christians today will not do. Although you are naked of everything that is of self, you are definitely dressed in His Glory because you have the Father’s heart:

34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’(Matthew 25:34-40 NKJV)

“The one who breaks open will come up before them; They will break out, Pass through the gate, and go out by it; their king will pass before them, With the LORD at their head.” Micah 2:13

There is always a battle to cross over the threshold into your next level. Thank you LORD for going before us–putting the breaker angels on a blocking sled–and pushing us through the front of the enemy…

(My husband used to coach high school football and I asked him for the name of that contraption used in practice… :)

Holly, Hang in there!!! You are making a difference in the those people’s lives. I admire your spunk to get in the middle of them–and to be counted as one of them. I am standing with you in prayer.

Mark, a flood of revelation has opened up for you these past few days. Keep sharing with us! As you pour out–more will come to you…

May we all experience “breakthrough” !!!

    Love y’all,
    Linda :)

  20. Holly May 26th, 2010 11:26 am

    Hello,
It is a small thing the vision the Lord has given me. The homeless collect cans by going to the dumpsters all over the place. But there is no redemption center. I am believing the Lord today for a small building with a few canning machines that will take all their cans. Maybe someone can be sitting there to listen to them as they come through. The homeless are grateful if someone just listens to them. Many of them are veterans who deserve a lot of respect. I hope that I am that person to them and that others will gain a vision for their community’s poor. I eat in the soup kitchen and see the same lonely faces day after day. People who go in and out of jail and then have no where to go. Keep these little ones in your prayers that the glory of God would be poured out on the homeless communities throughout America, that the homeless would cross paths with the right Christians who can provide the nurturing they need. My heart breaks for people. It has to be the Holy Spirit giving me this burden. But I give it to Jesus, my high priest who ever lives to make intercession for us. Read the book of James and see the end that is waiting for the rich. James even admonishes people for storing up possessions in the last days. Please join me in praying for my vision. Thank you, Holly

    Tselem

Tselem, translated “image”, in Gen 1:27 can also mean “idol.” Mankind is God’s idol in that they represent him. Or, said another way, mankind exists to represent God on the earth. An idol in ancient times represented a god or goddess. When someone prayed to an idol they did it within the idol’s hearing so that it might answer. However, being created in God’s image can mean one of three things: 1) we look like God physically, 2) we can think like God, or 3) we represent God in doing his will. Option 1 isn’t possible because John 4:24 says God is spirit. He exists outside of creation. Option 2 doesn’t work because his thoughts are not our thoughts Is. 55:8, 9.

Therefore, we are in existence to represent God on earth in doing his will. Now, an idol would be fashioned after the characteristics of the god or goddess. But, we are not a statue that does not move or speak. Therefore, in order for the Israelites to be God’s idol they had to carry his characteristics. That is what I believe the laws were for. The laws demonstrate the characteristics of God and the people were to emulate them. Did you ever notice the laws about not gleaning all the produce from the fields but leaving some for the poor and widows? That is God’s character. There are others like this but no space to go into them. Next time you read the law I think it will be quite the eye opener to think of them as God’s characteristics.

Yet, no people could live up to all of the characteristics of God so he provided a way to keep the covenant even though failure was sure. He provided a system of sacrifice. Think of being a foreign nation observing the Israelites. They tried to be in God’s image but clearly showed they understood when they failed and tried to make amends through sacrifice. This pointed others to the fact of a God who was greater than the people even though they tried to be like him.

When Christians try to be like Christ and fail most people blame God and not the people. ‘Those Christians are so judgmental…I don’t want to follow a God like that’ or ‘Those Christians are so back biting…so hypocritical….’ etc. We still represent God just as did the ancient Israelites.

But, what happened in the fall. If Adam and Eve fully represented the character of God what happened when they sinned? I like the thought that “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” was a “merism.” That is, it was an expression of totality by means of polarity. For instance, ‘as far as the east is from the west’ meaning absolutely completely separated by distance. Or, ‘if I go to the highest heaven or the lowest hell there you are’ doesn’t mean God is just in heaven or hell. It means he is everywhere. Or, ‘I will bless your coming in and your going out.’ That doesn’t mean he only blessed when the person was standing in the threshold waiting to go in our out. It mean in all their ways they were blessed. So, then, in that vein the knowledge of good and evil would be understanding of all things. Why did he not want mankind to have this knowledge? Because, mankind has high intellectual capacity but low moral capacity. For instance, the knowledge of nuclear energy can be harnessed for power or it can be unleashed as a weapon of mass destruction. Another consequence of the initial sin was that man became mortal.

I like these views on imago dei. They are my opinion and have greatly changed my view of the entire Bible.

    Hi everyone,
Thanks guys for the encouragement! Thanks for keeping us in your prayers, and for the Lord coming with his breaker angels. Angels are soo cool and such an encouragement. I think its time for another angel encounter. They are probably in disguise everyday and I just don’t know them. But you are all right, going to the next level requires this refining. You all are strenghening me with your words. Thank you so much. Blessings, Holly

Hi Guys! I just wanted to share something our Lord shared with me.
Eph. 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
Mk. 14:3 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.
I looked up the word spikenard and it is a sweet smelling flower. The spikenard was poured on his head two days before the passover. When our King went to that bogus trial, he smelled like a million dollars. The oil was still in his hair when he sacrificed himself to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Isn’t that cool? bye guys,

“Mark, a flood of revelation has opened up for you these past few days. Keep sharing with us! As you pour out–more will come to you…” - Linda Burns

    Linda,

Thank you, that lifts me up. You do not know who I am but I am going open my hands wide and give you a Gift, a very special Gift - all Revelation flows from this one act of participating in God - and even now it is descending and coming down to rest on you….

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled

Do you understand this? This is how we receive Him as our Daily Bread and from now on every time you open your hands something beautiful will always be given away…..

“Mark, I also enjoyed the revelation the Lord gave you on the smoke of His Presence. We are currently learning about prayer in bible study, so that really spoke to me.” - Laydownyourcrown

The things you will see…He has touched your eyes and you will see up through the Veil and the Vale - you will literally see the Real Substance of Prayer - He has placed His hands over your eyes and when he lifts them away you will see all the things that have always been waiting to be seen….

Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be [already] seen.

Thanks for that “nugget” of revelation that tied it all together, nameless! The Body hear on coffee talk is definitely on one accord in the same mind(the mind of Christ) and the same Spirit(the Holy Spirit):D

I envision the soul and spirit as the separation of two different waters. Technically they are both light, but water and light both move in waves so… you can go a long way with that.

It looks like in the beginning the Spirit enveloped both body and soul, during the fall it got captured by them both.

Now after Jesus completed his mission the spirit is supposed to errupt out of them both again.

water, light, spirit, and blood. They all pulse :)

    One of Those,
I admire you for taking these theology courses and balancing your studies with being a wife and mother.
You have a keen mind and a lot you share is way above my head. It is “Greek” to me. :)
I know you are a deep thinker–you are a dreamer–and you have been faithful to this blog for a long time…
What are you working towards? Is for a particular church? a particular ministry job?
I was praying for you today and I felt the Holy Spirit wants to sing over you a blessing…Have you ever had an experience like this? This may sound “crazy” to you, but that is what I was sensing…
Just see yourself relaxing against HIM–listening to the beat of HIS heart. Let HIM minister to you with a gentle song as you cast all your cares upon HIM…
    Love ya,
    Linda :)

  30. One of Those June 3rd, 2010 12:27 pm

Funny you should ask Linda. Wondering what I’m doing is about all I’m thinking about these days.

I started seminary because my job required I have a master’s degree and didn’t specify what it needed to be in. I didn’t know what to do with my life but I didn’t want to do what everyone else did…get a master’s in business. I can’t stand business! I also worked 80-100 hours a week and local churches didn’t offer home groups so I was a permanent stranger unable to get involved. I was also doubting about God in general. So, I putzed around in seminary until my first child was born.

I only had a toe in the church door after my first child was born. After 10 years of trying to be a part of ministry I gave up. It was all I ever wanted to do but was never much I could do…so I let it go. After my 2nd child was born I decided God wasn’t real because he never interacted with me or answered prayers. It seemed more likely he was taking my job and child’s health away than helping anything. Rather than attribute to Him evil I just decided he wasn’t there.

At the start of this blog I had a sort of renewal back to God. After losing my job, having no local opportunities for work, and a boat anchor mortgage my only option was to take a scholarship to go back to school. I looked at the costs and time of medical school and decided against it. Other degrees didn’t interest me or work out in the local area either. I felt backed up against a wall to return to seminary…where I am now.

At first I defended my particular seminary for it’s ability to retain evangelical beliefs that the Bible is God’s word, infallible, inerrant, and true. So many seem to think seminary destroys faith in God. Some seminaries are ‘liberal’ in fact saying the Bible is not true. However, mine is not one of those.

Yet I’m further along in disbelief than before. Tis a gift to be simple…ignorance is bliss. There is no way in a short blog to explain why the seminarian falls apart at some point in their schooling…it would not be understood. However, I do not blame it on the school. They make sure to instruct students not to inform their parishioners of all the ‘problems’ and 4,000 ways to interpret everything. I’ve always been a Thomas and as of now have almost zero hope of that changing. How nice it must be for those who have all sorts of supernatural ‘events’ in their life…easy to believe.

To those Christians who feel safe and comfortable with the wisps of feelings, emotions, and goosebumps racing through their hearts and minds I say, ‘more power to you.’ I hope they would be as eager to know their Bibles and doctrine as they wish to shake, shiver, fall, and laugh. I’m fairly confident people have heard more sermons about miracles, signs, wonders, translations, transportations, angelic visits, and other exciting things than they’ve heard on what God did, was doing, and intends for us today from the Old Testament. I feel charismatic churches tipping. The balance on the other end is Bible studies.

But, I digress. What am I doing this for? I’m getting some money while I’m trying to figure out what to do next….or what job to find….or whatever. There haven’t been any guides or signposts my old desire for being in ministry is anything….most certainly no sign my old desire for a gift of healing means anything. And besides, I can’t believe for more than 10 minutes at a time. So, I don’t really think I’ll make my living in ministry….maybe as a seminary professor but knowledge of God and knowing God are two very different things. Maybe a job in my old career field will open locally…who knows?

There, the cat’s out of the bag! *bracing for the barrage of responses*

  32. laydownyourcrown June 4th, 2010 9:25 am

    Hi One of those,

I thank you for being so transparent about your feelings because I believe many Christians go through seasons of unbelief. Even the wisest king that ever lived, Solomon went through seasons of questioning (hence the book of Ecclesiastes). As you already know the word ecclesiastes comes from the root greek word ‘Ekklesia’ which refers to the church or called out ones. I believe God had Solomon write this book because He knew that his sheep would go through seasons of doubting where everything would appear to be “vanity”. However, at the end Solomon states “Remember Him”-Remember God (ecclesiastes 12:6).

Jesus said: In this world we will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world (John 16:33). He overcame the world and died for us while we still unworthy. He is the only reason we have eternal life and communion with the Father. So we as believers must remember Him. In spite of all the hate, hardships, pain, and circumstances we experience everyday we remember Him. We take communion to remind us of what He did and to keep are hearts burning for His return. For we know that this life is temporary, but what He has for us is eternal.

Many believers say, “I understand that, but what about now? I feel like I cannot hang on.” And this is where Paul got it. When he prayed for his thorn in the flesh to leave, God would not take it away. Why? Because through this thing, he sought God harder. God strenghtened their relationship through his weakness. I don’t know your situation at all, but do you think you would have sought God as hard and for so long if you didn’t go through the things that you have gone through? I mean look at how amazing God is. Through your pain, He released the opportunity for you to pursue to call of God on your life to preach or teach the Word. Not only that, but He opened wide a door for you to minister to families of children with disabilities who may have never known about Him or His love until they came across you and your husband’s website. Now because of you, they can have faith in God through their circumstances. These families can now know how to trust God as their Life-Sustainer or El Shaddai (God of More than Enough). They can also know the importance of keeping their disabled child in the arms of the Lord through prayer. Because of Emily smiling on Christmas Day, now many other families can trust God for a miracle for their disabled child. You have souls in your belly that have been touched and have yet to be touched because of what you went through. Do you think you would’ve touched so many lives if you didn’t go through this?

I believe God is pruning you. I believe that He is building you into a radiant church without spot wrinkle or blemish. He is teaching you to have joy when everything says you should be weeping. He is teaching you to have peace when everything appears to be chaos. He is burning away everything that is not like Him, and He is taking that pile of ashes from the refiner’s fire and giving you BEAUTY! You will shine forth as PURE GOLD :) Your life is a testimony. He calls you BLESSED because unlike Thomas you haven’t seen and yet have believed and will believe! Do not give up! There are more lives for you to touch through the hands of Jesus and much teaching and preaching for you to do. He is closer than He has ever been. Your testimony will teach people to endure and have faith to finish the race when everything says that they should give up. Keep pressing and keep P.U.S.H.ing(Praying Until Something Happens).

Know that I will be praying with you. Stay strong Mighty Woman of God :)

    One of Those,

I can say from experience: Sometimes when you “see” something it is like “What am I looking at? This seems out of place…” And then it hits you “This that i’m seeing is physically impossible, but i’m seeing it anyway.”

I’ve only really had 1 such event and it was after I woke up from a really interesting dream. I can say after having a spiritual encouter I didn’t feel like my spiritual position was improved, I just felt like God said “well now you can’t complain about never seeing anything”

I’ve had supernatural things happen but up until that point i’d never “seen” anything (if that makes sense)

  36. One of Those June 4th, 2010 12:02 pm

Thank you everyone for your comments and prayers.

To keep it from being off topic, I’d like to point out some things about the wilderness and the tabernacle. The Israelites incessantly went through periods of dissatisfaction with God and times of doubt. Some of their dissatisfaction included complaining about God’s timing concerning giving them water and not having meat. They also doubted both God’s sovereignty and his covenant over and over and over. They disregarded the terms of the covenant constantly. Some call this the Deuteronomic Cycle where people were 1. faithful, free, 2. entered apostasy, 3. encountered anger of Yahweh, 4. had enemy oppression, 5. cried for help and returned to Yahweh, 6. were rescued via a judge, 7. faithful, free, and finally 8. entered apostasy thus repeating the cycle over and over.

Moses predicted the failure of Israel in Deuteronomy 31 BEFORE they even went into the promised land. However, God, knowing their fate, still delivered them from Israel, blessed them, fought for them, and watched over them. This is blessing that is unwarranted. Yet, the consequences of their sins were warranted.

As part of the covenant, God would dwell among the people if they adhered to all the stipulations. The tabernacle in the wilderness was a tent. The people were living in tents and so was God. Yet, even when the Israelites went in to take the promise land they never fully did so. Number 33:55 says ” But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those whom you let remain shall be as barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides; they shall trouble you in the land where you are settling.” And, they never kept all the stipulations either. The period of the Judges records their constant struggle. Samuel records their rejection of God as King and the consequences.

I am no better than these people, my spiritual heritage. I do the same things they do though idol worship is not on my list of downfalls, at least not in the historical sense. All of them failed. Isn’t it interesting that Solomon was required by law (Deut. 17:18-20) to read the law daily but still disobeyed the warning for a king in Deut. 17:17 about taking too many wives. He probably stopped reading the law daily or purposely disregarded the commands. He ended up with 700 wives and 300 concubines! He knew also as a command that the Israelites were not to marry foreign women or they might lead them into worship of other gods. And, so they did for Solomon. He built his wives and their gods temples and alters to worship.

I do not trust myself even to the thought that a throne room experience like John Paul has described going through would prevent me from doubting at some later time. We are all doomed to his mercy and grace. Though, while not being such a bad fate, I have no confidence in myself. If I wind up in heaven one day it would not be because I was able to remain faithful but that he took mercy and guided my life away from the pit.

    Dear Friends of Coffee Talk:

I want to share a video on the gulf crisis in Mexico that a close friend of mine had produced based on a word of the Lord she had received regarding what He is imparting to His people in the spirit in relation to “The Oil Crisis” in our land. Here is the video:

    Dear Friends:

Ok,I am definitely diving into the deep with this one. Last night, I had a dream that I was in a small conference room with people from the Coffee Talk Blog and an angel appeared to me when we were on break and handed me a very juicy ripe tomato covered with chocolate. I never had it before in my life, but in the dream when I ate it,it tasted so good, it was out of this world and then before I woke up, the angel also instructed me to go across the room and tell John Paul about this for he would know the meaning behind the “chocolate covered tomato”. I also remember telling the angel that John Paul is going to think that I am definitely off the wall if he doesn’t think so already, lol. That’s when I woke up. I know that this is probably one for dream loggr but I wanted to run it by a few people. This may also be for someone else here or someone you know. I’m just curious, if it means nothing,I’ll just put it in the back of my mind and believe the Lord for an interpretation.

    Bless You All,
    Shirley C.

  40. Linda Burns June 7th, 2010 4:25 am

    Mornin’ Y’all,

I keep hearing the question–”Did you receive the Holy Spirit since you believed???” (Acts 19:2)

The Holy Spirit is a vital part of the trinity and His ministry is so needed in our lives today. We need that “edge”… People will debate on whether we need to value the Holy Spirit’s ministry in the 21st century…

If Jesus thought it was necessary to tell 120 of his closest family and friends to come together after He left and tarry until the Holy Spirit’s power fell–how much more– hundreds of years later– does it not make sense that we would need to experience this more than ever…

You don’t have to be in a “holy” setting–like church–to receive the power of the Holy Spirit. I was in a little restaurant in Jan 1st of’73 eating and in fellowshipwith friends when the Holy Spirit came upon me…

Today–don’t harden your hearts. Humble yourselves and just ask Him to introduce Himself to you right where you are. Give your fears to Daddy God and allow Him the Holy Spirit to reveal Himself to you.

    I “double dare” y’all who haven’t received Him… :)

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks, finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?
If you then, being evil. know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!!!”
    –Luke 11:9-13

    Love you guys !!!
    Linda :)

Shirley, I haven’t gone to that site yet—but I am hoping there is an oil spill in the spirit that man can’t put a cap on…..Hallelujah!!!

  41. nameless June 7th, 2010 10:47 am

David was a warrior. There was one thing he always did. As you study psalms you see a man that had his ups and downs, but always ended up using his will. I will, is all through the book. I will praise ,I will remember. seach and you will see. Now is the time to put on strength. Do not let the accuser come before your Father and say, I told you that one could not stand up against my lies. That is what it is all about. Many shall be purified and tried and made white. the fight is all about faith.

A word from a close friend?! Hahahaha :D Very insightful vid. Thanks for sharing your wisdom :)

    TOMATOES A LA CHOCOLATE
    or
    CHOCOLATE A LA TOMATOES

Shirley in the “natural” that doesn’t seem like a winning secret ingredient for the Pillsbury Bake Off Contest… It may be good for an ingredient in the bags of fertilizer you use on that farm game you play on Facebook. :)

But in the “spirit” this is “angel” food being released… Maybe it is like eating the little book in Revelation 10. It is sweet as honey (chocolate) in
your mouth but becomes bitter (from the acid in the tomato) in your stomach.

I will be quite interested in this dream interpretation from the experts…

Can you imagine what our Coffee Talk gang would look
like if we had a reunion? Would it be a dream come true or a nightmare? :)

I love you my sister Shirley—I haven’t had a chance to joke with you in awhile. (We’ve been pretty serious.) I thank God for you getting in deep water and going out on a limb from time-to-time. That encourages everyone to get out of the box and safety net. We need to be “real”…

Have a blessed day and keep on dreaming!!!
    Love y’all,
    Linda :)

    Hah hah!

Shirley C. Its funny that you sent that link because my truck is using oil (about 1 quart every 200 miles)
and the mechanic says there is NOT a leak. He has run every test he can find but they cannot figure out where the oil is going. My motor is under a 3 year warranty so the company I got the motor from has to fix it, but they do not know how. Do you have a prophetic truck too? :)

Talk about wisdom of the world eh?

    I get it!

They do not know how to stop the leak in the gulf (eventually they will figure it out for the sake of the fish)(represent christianity?)

…but THE LORD ALMIGHTY is about to move in such as way that men will have no power against it! The enemy will try to stop what is about to happen in the same way he fought against the revival in Lakeland, Fla but i’m here to tell you they can’t stop this one! Wooo!

God is whispering to everyone “something is about to happen, and you can’t stop it…”

    Thank ‘ye

    -Shaun

Ok,well there you go, you prophetic person you (lol), I believe that the Lord had put a similar message in your spirit too, um. It must be spirit ruling over the soul, lol. And as for you John Paul, the Lord is saying muc more is coming from the “printing presses” of heaven.

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow and a double wow, to all ya’all:

If this is what “chocolate covered tomatoes” is all about, then send a whole boat load “Heavenly Father”, more than a boat load send the biggest fleet to all those still standing on this side of “GLORY”. So, we can heal the sick, raise the dead and cleanse the lepers of this age. Yeah, God! Thank you for the inner workings of the Holy Spirit working in and through your people. I was just talking to a dear Face Book friend from the UK and she interpreted the “chocolate covered tomatoes” as “Heaven Touching Earth” break thru. I also like David and Linda’s interpretation too.
I was telling my friend earlier, that I think I’ll step out in faith and actually make it and eat it as a prophetic action and if it tastes good, I’ll make some more of it and buy some whip cream and do up some carmelized onions with cinnamon and cooked raisins and call some people over and have a revival party, lol, lol, lol, lol. I just thought of something regarding what David said, tomato sauce is used in bath’s to counteract the strong smell of skunks whenever people get sprayed. The world carries a strong stench of sin and the symbol of the tomato being round and red; red also being the same color of the blood of Jesus represents the fullness of the purification that is about ready to take place as the oil of His Presence is being released from deep within our spirits. Oh Lord I thank you for “chocolate covered tomatoes and the fruit that it will bring to the Body of Christ as Heaven Invades the earth in the Glory and in the fullness of times. Have an awesome day. Love You Guys & Guys, your awesome!

    Blessings!

A holy kiss to you all this morning. I just read again this last section IMAGO DEI, and remembering and pondering when the Lord audibly spoke to me the words” YOU ARE CREATED IN MY IMAGE”. I thought at first yes Lord, I know, I have read and heard that many times. But then I would say to myself, wow, but God told you personally and audibly, this truth must have depth, height, width, and breath to it. So for years, I have sought out this truth. I remember when Jesus ignited my spirit with the Holy Spirit and Fire,I was alone in my house, sitting on my couch and reading in the book of Mark; and I believe it was a few days or maybe weeks, then God spoke….those words…those beautiful, wonderful words, YOU ARE CREATED IN MY IMAGE!!!!!Everyone, we are created in His image!! I feel His Heart in all you all’s words. Bless you all!!

    Hi all,

I think its funny your friend said that the chocolate covered tomato reminded her of “Heaven Touching Earth” because the Lord has been having me reflect recently on this song by David and Nicole Binion entitled “Heaven on Earth”. The song is awesome and verifies a lot of what many of you said the Father is doing right now in the earth. I love the Binions because they truly do worship in the Throne Room.

I have provided the link if someone has never heard the song and wants to hear it.

    Good Morning To All, Ya’all:

Thank you to “Laydownyourcrown” for the confirmation, God is so good, all the time God is good! Anyway,I was awakened by the Lord this morning with song that He was singing within my spirit. And then He turned it into a prophetic message that is from an old Righteous Brother’s tune from way back in the early 60’s, “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” - Here is the accompanying video from You Tube - Selah!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8hjtFq3vE0&feature=related

    My Testimony:

A Love Warning To The Church From “OUR HEAVENLY FATHER”

When I woke up this morning after an awesome gathering at the Metro-West Bridge Church in Natick, Massachusetts last night with Keith Luker and Paul David Guidry and the rest of the Metro West Bridge Family, the Lord was singing a song to me in the Holy Ghost from the “Righteous Brother’s, “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling”. I asked the Lord why, He was singing it to me, cuz I do love Him with all of my heart and He said it was His song if “CRY OF DESPARATION” for this generations of believers in the “Body Of Christ”. The Father Yearns For His Beloved Bride, to embrace His Love and to Love Him back♥

The Lord Made Us To Respond To His LOVE, Cuz He is LOVE:

The Righteous Brothers - You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling Lyrics:

You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips.
And there’s no tenderness like before in your fingertips.
You’re trying hard not to show it, (baby).
But baby, baby I know it…

    You’ve lost that lovin’ feelin’,
    Whoa, that lovin’ feelin’,
    You’ve lost that lovin’ feelin’,
    Now it’s gone…gone…gone…wooooooh.

Now there’s no welcome look in your eyes when I reach for you.
And girl you’re starting to criticize little things I do.
It makes me just feel like crying, (baby).
    ‘Cause baby, something beautiful’s dyin’.

    You lost that lovin’ feelin’,
    Whoa, that lovin’ feelin’,
    You’ve lost that lovin’ feelin’,
    Now it’s gone…gone…gone…woooooah

Baby, baby, I’d get down on my knees for you.

If you would only love me like you used to do, yeah.

We had a love…a love…a love you don’t find everyday.

So don’t…don’t…don’t…don’t let it slip away.

    Baby (baby), baby (baby),
I beg of you please (please), please (please)
I need your love (I need your love), I need your love (I need your love),
So bring it on back (So bring it on back),
Bring it on back (so bring it on back).

    Bring back that lovin’ feelin’,
    Whoa, that lovin’ feelin’
    Bring back that lovin’ feelin’,
    ‘Cause it’s gone…gone…gone,
    and I can’t go on,
    woh-oh-oh-oh

    Bring back that lovin’ feelin’,
    Whoa, that lovin’ feelin’
    Bring back that lovin’ feelin’,
    ‘Cause it’s gone…gone…gone…
And I can’t go on.. wooooah

What has been swirling around in my spirit today is the “keeping” power of GOD in my life…Hallelujah!!!
    HE maintains our cause
    HE carries us
    HE guards us
    HE takes care of us
    HE holds us
    etc. etc. etc.
There are so many scriptures that build us up on HIS power to “keep”
I am a “kept” woman of GOD!!! :)

“Now to HIM who is able to keep you from stumbling,
    And to present you faultless
Before the Presence of HIS glory
    With exceeding joy.
    To GOD our Savior.
Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty,
Dominion and power,Both now and forever,
    Amen.”
    —Jude 24, 25

Let HIM “keep” you and that which is precious!!!

    Love y’all,
    Linda :)

    Dear Shirley,
I can really relate to the crisis mode that New Englander’s are in. Imagine what the gulf coast must be enduring! Jesus is cleaning up America and he is going into every nook and cranny. He will not spare for our tears. He is doing a holy work. But it is not easy to bear at times. I feel stretched in every direction. We are hoping for a breakthrough soon and covet everyone’s prayers. Is this the dark night of the Spirit where spirit learns to rule over soul? I’m confused. But I know judgment begins in the household of God. Then when the world falls apart we will be ready to catch them. Can you relate to what I’m talking about? Blessings, Holly

  56. Nameless June 16th, 2010 11:29 am

Hi, just want to share what our Lord shared with me about Adam! In Timothy we are told that, Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Adam was not deceived. What Adam did was deliberate. He willingly did what he did to be with his bride. He willingly went into darkness! Truly created in the image of God! there was no greater love. Just as our King Jesus went willing into darkness for his bride!

  57. Shirley C. June 16th, 2010 2:25 pm

    Holly and Nameless:

I can definitely relate. I cannot speak for individual believers as to who is entering into “the Dark Night Of the spirit” as opposed to “The Dark Night of the Soul”. Only God knows that one. He is holding us individually accountable and corporately as well. However, corporately in the Body of Christ, it looks like we are going into “The Dark Night Of The Spirit” knowing that our answers are not going to come from the world but from heaven where spirit rules over the soul. Its up to the Leaders to guide the individuals that make up the Body if Christ through that process. Both my husband and I have done a couple of radio shows about this:

  59. Shaun Brehm June 18th, 2010 10:55 am

I got a question that I want to know the answer. The 3 parts of a person; Spirit, soul, body, and the 3 parts of those:

    Spirit; wisdom, communion, conscience
    Soul; mind, will, emotions
    Body; flesh, bone, blood

Who came up with this diagram? I’ve noticed this used in an “authoritative” context but I’m unable to find much reference material on it. Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Shaun Brehm

John Paul Jackson uses this exact alignment of the Human Person - sometimes, Wisdom is treated interchangeably with Intuiton or the intuitive.

It was John Paul Jackson who first linked Intuition with Wisdom - he was one of two [post] modern progenitors of this approach to the Human Person - some of the source material comes from a reading of ‘The Spiirtual Man’ by ‘Watchman Nee’, based on his readings of Greek Patristics [particularly the Cappadocians http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cappadocian_Fathers and his interaction with Jesse Penn Lewis.

    Hi Linda:

Tis is too funny, I grew up on Skippy Peanut Butter and Marshmellow Sandwiches. My mother had a certain way that she spread the peanut butter. Whenever, she made them there would be just enough peanut butter and marshmellow oozing from the side of the sandwich each time, lol. I don’t know why this makes me so happy, lol. There must be a spiritual significance to this overflow. God only knows. It seems that John Paul just posted a new posting yesterday. We are in for a treat kind of reminds me of those peanut butter and marshmellow sandwiches of the 1960’s. Oops, I am dating myself now. See you on the next posting. Send my love to those special grandchildren of yours.

    Blessings,
    Shirley C.

    Shirley,
I bought a pkg. of strawberry flavored marshmallows the other day–I was going to make Rice Krispy Treats with that new flavor. I’ll make some marshmallow peanut butter sandwiches and see which flavor goes over…I will give you the results.
We’ve got squash coming in our garden so I am trying out new recipes…Have a special one?
Our harvest is plentiful—ahem! have to sound a little “spiritual”… :)
I was eating sandwiches in the 50’s Shirley listening to the One Eyed–One horn flying purple eater… :)
Have a blessed day and do something outrageously fun!!!
    Love, Linda :)
