THE VEIL, LIGHT, AND PRIDE

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” Philippians 2:5-8

The Veil is lifting and you are in ‘transition’ and that transition is to result in you being ‘transformed’ in your body, soul and spirit. Transition by definition is a process, and processes are often slow, very slow. Transition is also littered with seeming gaps in our understanding as to why God does what He does as well as why He does it the way He does it.

TINY ROOMS

Your Journey through the spacious Outer court was arduous, but it resulted in the transformation of your flesh. The steps you have taken in the much smaller Holy Place has been more intense and mysterious, resulting in the transformation of your soul. The room you are entering, the second Room of Mystery is even smaller. At ten cubits by ten cubits (15′ X 15″) it is one half the size of the Holy Place. It is the most  mysterious room in the Tabernacle. Here your spirit will be revived and become ‘one’ with God as His Spirit begins to take every space that you will allow Him to have.

SPIRIT RULE

It is here that your spirit begins to rule your soul and your body. As the Veil in front of you lifts the Light of the Glory of God radiates from the Holy of Holies into the room in which you currently stand. You will discover that the importance of the ‘Torn’ Veil is enormous. However, until you understand the fullness of the ‘untorn Veil’ you cannot appreciate God tearing the Veil. I will write more on this ‘tearing’ later.

LEADING, FOLLOWING, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT

You have heard it said that, “The greatest leaders are the greatest followers.” Here, in the Holy of Holies, you will learn the deeper meaning of this saying. You are entering into the most intense training period of your life, the “Dark Night of the Spirit.” You will learn how your spirit is to rule your soul and your body, by learning to follow the Spirit of God. You cannot become ‘one’ with the Spirit of God with out following where He goes and what He does. God’s Spirit will not follow you nor your agenda, so if you if you insist on going your own way, you will do so alone.

THE DARKNESS OF YOUR OWN AGENDAS

God’s Spirit is His Light, so wherever and whenever you go on your own, you will go in darkness. In that darkness are all manner of dark beings that use the darkness as a cloak. They are there to stop you from achieving God’s purpose in creating you. Here, in this tiny room, your purpose will begin to unfold.

Dark spiritual beings thrive on the pride found in your agenda. Here, in this Light is where Pride is the most lethal. After all it was in this very proximity to God’s Light that Satan allowed Pride to enter His heart. Pride can enter through the cracks in your life. Your journey thus far has been designed to get all but the smallest of cracks out of your life. It is in this room that the rest of the cracks will be addressed.

PROXMITY AND PRIDE

Proximity to God is no guard against pride, if it was Satan would not have fallen.

This is why it is imperative that you go into the last Room of Mystery when God’s presence is there. It is very good to see Light coming from under the Veil as it lifts - by it you know God’s presence is there and since there is “no darkness in Him,” nothing in there can hide from His light. In Him you will see and know at levels previously hidden from you. This too can cause Pride.

Perhaps the greatest issues the Priest had to face was not found on the outside of the Veil, but found once he entered this room. Would what he was to experience here cause pride to fill his heart? Perhaps the greater question is not was the High Priest clean before he went into the Holy of Holies, but how did he live his life once he came out?

“HE MADE HIMSELF OF NO REPUTATION”

Perhaps the gaps you face in waiting for God to invite you into this small chamber is more about your life on the other side of this experience than your life on this side of it.

SELAH

Blessings,

John Paul

Is my fear of falling to pride an indication of pride?

  2. Shirley C. December 14th, 2009 5:21 pm

    JP:

I have several questions regarding agendas. Is it possible for a person who claims to be “agendaless” actually have an agenda and be “clueless” about it? And is “agenda” more of a psychic manipulation passed down from our ancestors throughout the generations. And can certain kinds of “agendas” for example, “the American Agenda, whatever it is (changes every 4 years, lol) be in fact something that can be a by-product of this countries need to shape the mind and hearts of citizens that live within the borders of these 50 states? Is having to do nothing about your life indeed a safe way to insure that you have no agenda because if it is then what is the use of living? Is “The American Dream” an agenda or a myth? I am discerning that there needs to be a closer look at the different ways in which an individual can have an agenda, especially those who are not aware of them. This would share more light on “The Dark Night of The Soul & Spirit” for those who are still pondering and meditating upon what kinds of agenda’s they may have.

    Trying to remain agendaless,

    Shirley C.

Ok, JP after re-reading this several times,I believe that God wants us to have agenda’s, His Agenda’s. Agenda’s that come from the mind of man are coming from “The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil” the Spirit’s Agenda’s, God’s agenda’s come from “The Tree of Life”. Correct me if I am wrong.

For I remain teachable in Christ Jesus,

Abide in HIM, HE is our LIFE and our BELOVED-“HE MADE HIMSELF OF NO REPUTATION” …Amen, we(I) must do the same, “Perhaps the gaps you face in waiting for God to invite you into this small chamber is more about your life on the other side of this experience than your life on this side of it.” …there is much to consider and ponder in this saying, thank you!

“Proximity to God is no guard against pride”-”Eve rejected God because she thought He had denied her something she should have - the fruit it’s the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil”-”Faith is superior to knowledge. Knowledge is based on that which has been discovered. Faith is based on that which will be discovered.”…LIGHT was, has, is to come, ETERNAL ONE, the just shall live by faith, in the beginning (SON of GOD, who is the WORD of GOD made flesh, URIM and THUMMIN, etc. created heaven and earth~~by faith (Book of Hebrews), HIS banner over us is LOVE as HE is our LIGHT and our Salvation, The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. As we grow closer to HIM we lose sight of ourselves to become who HE chose us to be from the foundation of the earth. It becomes a transition of desiring what HE wants above what we desire as we see that just like JESUS is our example, our FATHER knows best, all things are for HIS Glory and HE will lead us in the WAY that we should go. HIS Wisdom and Counsel~ Abide in HIM, apart from HIM we can do nothing! ( wow! as we have gone through these transitions I understand now why my mom use to tell us to read between the lines as we prayed and read our bibles, the many times she would tell us that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob would teach us by HIS Spirit all things and that we would hear and see what the Spirit of the Living God is saying to all of us who are God’s children)-thank you John Paul and staff!

The turban of the priest had an inscription “Holiness to the Lord.”

We must come to an understanding of what “holiness” means to God and why it is so important that we be “holy” before we approach the ark of the covenant in the next room.

“Therefore gird up your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because as it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.”
    I Peter 1:13-16

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him, who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but now are the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.”
    I Peter 2:9-10

The priest could not offer God anything blemished, defective, strange or defiled…We as priests cannot have any of those things abiding in us.

    Reveal Your holiness to us,
    Linda

I am confused, and do not understand the part where you mention “The greatest leaders are the greatest followers.”

This seems to me to be innaccurate and I have no idea how that works.

If a person is at a place where his spirit is meshing with Gods so much in desire, we get to the point where we aren’t following, but rather, we co-exist. God is still God, and we are still human, but we get to the point where our love, our light, our joys are all that which are part of Gods, and so we don’t follow as much as we ‘join in’ with him.

To me, true beleivers are those who can actively do ‘whatever’ they want, because what they want is in alignment with Christ’s heart and the purposes of heaven… i have met very few people who are in this category, but none the less.. I think they are the true leaders…and I don’t really think they need to follow anyone.

Thank you for clarifying the nature of transition. Over the last 3 days I’ve been pondering over a dream in which a voice said,”The San Francisco Bay bridge, the ONLY bridge in the world that grows to the other side.” I think maybe you might have added one more piece to figuring out the puzzle in its entirety.

Thank you for focusing on BEING a blessing.

JPJ- Transition is also littered with seeming gaps in our understanding as to why God does what He does as well as why He does it the way He does it.

At this point I patiently wait, and do what the word of God says, “Lean not unto thy own understanding”

I thought I was going to die through the “Dark Night of the Soul” Well I did die, it was stretching, very stretching.

It has to do with conscienceness and blindness … we desire an outcome - the outcome we desire is shrouded in darkness - we cant see the forest for the trees … God is the forest :)

When an orb was sent from heaven the whole creation reverberated, was affected … we tend to compartmentalize.

Do you consider the ‘problems’ or trials and tribulations He allows in your life a part of the dark nights? How does this play into asking for justice? If the trials and tribulations are akin to being put in a rock tumbler long enough to be smoothed out and made more beautiful then is the beauty the justice or is there more? Can we ask for justice for what He has allowed to be our ‘rock tumbler’ experience? I don’t understand what is going on in my life right now or how justice could look for the stream of troubles. I know I’m changing profoundly in many ways but…?

I was considering the contrast between spending so much time in a hospital listening to wailing children, fighting families, and suffering humanity in comparison to all these people crying out for ‘revival.’ It bothers me. I see the bums on the side of the road begging…cold, dirty, hungry, lonely, in physical pain…or, I see the sick people in exhaustion from pain and troubles. Then, I hear the cries from Christians to feel more tickles from God and it seems out of place. ‘More floor time.’ ‘More experiences.’ ‘A visitation please.’ ‘More laughing.’ ‘More more more of you God.’ However, how do we really help those in the worst possible situations? Why have ‘more’ of God if not to demonstrate His Kingdom come on this earth? How…and where do we apply this power? Who is able to walk in humility and carry the love of God demonstrated in signs and wonders to those who really need it? When can we go to the hospitals and heal the sick and dying? I’m glad for the big toes that get healed…and the sore backs…and tooth aches but…???

Oh but to be able to give back a child into the hands of the parents who leave the hospital with an empty car seat…an empty set of clothes…picture albums never to be filled. How can we do this? Who can carry this without destroying themselves?

One of our nurses came to the Lord a week or two ago. Then her nephew drown. They resuscitated him and we prayed for the best. It was unknown how long he had been drown but his eyes had already turned gray. A miracle took place for that family and their precious 2 year old boy was fully restored to them after about a week. No infections from the stagnant water and no brain damage! His eyes have returned to their normal color and he even told his mom he saw her pull him from the abandoned pool and his aunt ‘push on his chest.’

Now Lord, can we bring Your healing power to more of the suffering? Tell us who is able and how to do it.

  14. Shirley C. December 18th, 2009 11:16 am

    Kudos to One of Those:

Ok,wow, wow, wow. I am with you 100% on that one. Let’s talk about suffering. Having been there done that, bought the tee-shirt and revisiting it every now and then through the suffering lense of humanity, I must say that all of creation is groaning until the complete manifestation of His Glory is revealed through the sons and daughters of God. So, what you have experienced regarding witnessing other peoples miracles as you pray for them is in the sharing of your suffering as your inner man is groaning for the manifestation of His Glory to be revealed because you are “ONE OF HIS” creations, your groaning in your situation is touching the hem of Jesus’s garment through the Holy Spirit and miracles are happening as you step out in faith. This is the spiritual mystery of this age. Suffering brings on the resurrection power if applied in faith. I hope that this helps. Continue to step out in faith (faith is a fishing hook) and launch out into the deep and continue to reel in your catch. Don’t look at the boat so much but look to what lies ahead as the spirit shows you. Have a wonderful, joyful and spirit filled Christmas and a Glorious bringing in of the New Year.

one of those, i believe that every person can do what u ask. Every believer that is. No self destruction necessary. Self denial yes. Death to self, yes. But u will not explode when u walk in this. You were made for this. I encourage u to ask God and then step. Whether a king sends a messenger that is a royal prince or a nobody, by being obedient u lose your reputation and are positioned to boast of the kings reputation. And whether u are a prince or a peasant, if u bear the kings signature there will be results. U must remember in whose name u heal the sick. I pray u will see much in healings. Jdc

“YE ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. A CITY THAT IS SET ON A HILL CANNOT BE HIDDEN. NOR DO THEY LIGHT A LAMP AND PUT IT UNDER A BASKET, BUT ON A LAMP STAND, AND IT GIVES LIGHT TO ALL WHO ARE IN THE HOUSE. LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE BEFORE MEN, THAT THEY AMY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS AND GLORIFY YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN.” Matthew 5:14-16

Yesterday I took my mom to the mall so she could shop. At each store she asked the cashier–”Where is the Christmas music?” The stores were silent…
Finally, outside one store, standing in the cold was a Salvation Army bell ringer belting out songs–blessing all that passed by her.

I rejoiced in that she had the heart and the “guts” to praise God in the open—while the huge nationwide stores were afraid of insulting the minority. These big stores were not able to bring a simple and small pleasure to their shoppers with Christmas music.

There’s a Christmas song by New Song called “Light Your World”—here’s some of the lyrics:

“Light your world–let the love of God shine through–in the little things you do–light your world.
Tho’ your life may be reaching only 2 or 3–light your world.
It only takes a little time to show someone how much you care–It only takes a little time to answer someone’s biggest prayer–
Light your world–let the love of God shine through–in the little things you do–light your world.”

Even though most of us are not called to influence the uttermost parts of the world–we are called to light the little world around us…

Holy Spirit clip our wicks, clean the smudges off our glass lamps, and add fresh oil to us. We want to burn brightly for You and others.

    Merry Christmas to y’all,
    Linda :)

Wow wow wow on this post!

Will - I believe the place of greatest union with God is a place that is already surrendered. That is, it already follows Him. True co-laboring and sharing of life requires the most radical, internal following on our part.

Co-laboring with God, co-moving, you dance together, He allows Himself to be influenced by you yet He still leads the dance. In His Spirit all things live, breathe and move. His Word holds all things together, with or without us. We do live in union, and grow in union, but He is still, always King.

Jesus our Lord, in perfect union with the Father, never grew too close to follow (John 5:19 and 30). To believe otherwise is to begin to fall into the same pride John Paul mentions in this post.

  18. cm December 20th, 2009 10:56 am

I had to post again, yesterday something quite comical turned into deeper revelation for me, and I wanted to share it with all of you, who have been on this Journey through the tabernacle. A friend of mine text messaged me a note saying “I missed your kiss this morning” where are you? I had to laugh because I knew my friend accidentally text me, a message that was for her husband.
I called her back left a comical message back to her, and that was the end of it, so I thought.
Then during the evening hours I was reading on the Elijah list a message given about 2010 in the message the word kissing was there, I finished reading the post, and did not think too much about it, until after worship, suddenly the words came to me “don’t you lift the veil, before you kiss the bride.
The revelation continued, this morning the Lord brought me to the book of Genesis the story of Leah. Jacob was tricked by Leah’s father Laban, through the covering of the Veil. We can all imagine the look on Jacob’s face when the Veil was removed, however, you can clearly read Leah was exactly where the Lord wanted her to be, Leah’s life did change dramatically, after the lifting of the Veil.

Genesis 29:31 “When the Lord saw that Leah was not loved, he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren”.

Leah on one side of the Veil was just Leah, Laban’s daughter, but on the other side of the Veil, she was Leah the Lords daughter, and the Lord loved her, and birthed the tribes of Israel through.

I now better understand what you meant by this statement JP. JPJ-Perhaps the gaps you face in waiting for God to invite you into this small chamber is more about your life on the other side of this experience than your life on this side of it.

If it is your destiny to believe, but in order to believe you must see, then God will let you see. Thomas was a cynical deciple and Jesus said there was no guile in him. Thomas said he wouldn’t believe Jesus unless he put his hand on the holes in Jesus’s hand, and in the hole at his side so Jesus let him.

I dont know and I dont care what God said about Satan but it took the Holy of Holies to reveal the pride in him. (The pride was “found” in him per scripture)

The Holy of Holies is a place of revealing destiny and per scripture it is a believer’s destiny to be conformed into the image of God’s son, Jesus. (Romans 8:29)(You are nearer than when you first believed)

God will hold you back if it is not your time, but ultimately we become conditioned to being held back. What is going to happen when its time is God will start pushing forward and then we start holding back. Ultimately it is a struggle of priority and regardless of the time God wants us to lose ours.

Ebb and Flow of the spirit is strange and unpredictable.

God provokes things/people in order to accomplish his purpose.

    -Shaun

“God will hold you back if it is not your time, but ultimately we become conditioned to being held back. What is going to happen when its time is God will start pushing forward and then we start holding back.”

I’m glad words are put to this feeling. I was just thinking last night how I don’t feel anymore like I should think myself able or qualified to do any kind of ministry beyond the regular contact I have with people day to day. On the other hand, 11 years ago I thought I could carry a massive anointing and large full-time ministry. The desert has removed the desire. I can understand why Moses would have the type of resistance he had to God in the burning bush.

JP, you always seem to help me realize that no matter what darkness and struggles I experience at one level, God is doing a wondrous work within me, and that in doing that work He is loving me. May you experience His light, His tender touch, and His loving presence during this holy season.

Never have I heard/felt such joyful bliss at the reading of Scripture by any man.Spoken perhaps…to me, OUR Lowly Savior His Voice ,as you must know is..how you say this..in english? perfectly appropriately empowering deeply healing!

  23. Joanne December 27th, 2009 1:50 pm

These posts provoke me, my memories, thoughts & dreams of touching others for HIm, the desperate, the dying, those in darkness….One of those, I feel what you feel, I have thought your thoughts. Where do we go from here?

Then this: “God will hold you back if it is not your time, but ultimately we become conditioned to being held back. What is going to happen when its time is God will start pushing forward and then we start holding back.”
    — Maybe it will be like when giving birth to a baby, the time comes -orchestrated by HIM, and there is no way the birth can be held back once the contractions begin, the baby WILL come forth.”

Isa 66:9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith Jehovah: shall I that cause to bring forth shut the womb? saith thy God”.

In the meantime, compassion is being wrought deep within us, we pain, we groan for His touch, His life, His healing to touch others, while it strips away any desire of our own, all becomes for HIM.

Even so Our light of love is reaching, touching, expanding beyond ourselves as we walk in hope & faith.

May He pour His grace out more and more,
    jo

RE: “God will hold you back if it is not your time, but ultimately we become conditioned to being held back. What is going to happen when its time is God will start pushing forward and then we start holding back.”

A few years ago I had a little picture come to me when I was feeling especially held back and even restrained a great deal. It is something that has come to me over and over again reminding me that I can do nothing without him and that it’s God’s touch and His Glory that changes us. As “seriously” minded as that sounds, the picture is a bit humorous, but hope it encourages someone else like it does me.

The short picture I saw was myself lined up on something like a train track for very fast transport. However, there was a very big hand with the thumb and forefinger holding me around my hips and pulling me back in a giant sling shot.

I expect when the time comes I may not have the ability to hold back…which is ok with me. Afterall, there must be some point when the Father pulls us out of his quiver and starts shooting His kids out. We’ll always have something that needs to be changed in us until we are changed in the twinkling of an eye…but Abba Father doesn’t seem to mind using imperfect people. Actually, I often think He gets a kick out of it.

to, one of those”..the pain of crushing and agony in your heart dearest one and the questions you pose..are the heart of our Lord. His kingdom is coming when you cannot bear the injustice’s you see around you and even feel deeply, so much so you anguish about the Chuch today and our self interest that seems so prevalant..more glory for us?? I pray that this uncomfortable place in you be birthed out …into the nearest place you find your self sensing this…COMPASSION is what moved the Christ into the miracle arena of the world..always he was moved with compassion ..this is an over looked statement..there is no formula for miracles without the compassion of Christ welling up in you..miracles are just as close as the pain you feel when you identify with the parent who takes the empyt car seat home. I think Jesus says to you..do you see the injustice of this? Do you feel the pain of empty arms…? Move with compassion in whatever way the Holy spirit is leading. maybe take your boken heart before the Lord in intercession..that we as the body of Christ first are in love with Him and Him being in us allow this compassion that flows from him bring the kingdom more fully to this dark and seemingly meaningless and painful existence..God came down and heaven filled my soul!
