The Four Golden Pillars of Deity III
“For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you.” 2Cor. 13:4
Standing here, trying to understand the last Golden Pillar that triumphantly stands before you is a little like trying to tell your child to be quiet when he/she is about to meet the President of the United States for the first time. Your child is excited, but does not understand the implications of the event and in the anxiety of the moment the child squirms, fidgets, and talks and loudly. Perhaps that is what you are feeling right now. I can almost hear you saying, “Come on, let’s get on with it!” I remind you that patience is a virtue of God and you might want to try emulating it. Smile 
THE FOURTH PILLAR
You have one final Golden Pillar of Deity to understand, one final concept between you and the Divine, one final basis from which to gain the faith that God’s Kingdom is eternal in every way and it is worth praying for. The last Golden Pillar upon which Deity is based is the Pillar of Omnipotence.
THE POWER OF CREATING
Omnipotence is more than power, more than authority, and certainly more than preexistence. It is the ability to create that which has never existed in any form. To make something from nothing - literally from nothing. I am not talking about inventing something, or changing the molecular structure, both of which started with something. I am talking about creating that, which is visible, and invisible; to create that which has free will and as such has a choice whether to love, serve, and obey that which created it. That is true Omnipotence.
RESTRAINT
Perhaps true Omnipotence could be taken one step further, and that might just be that the purest test of Omnipotence is to have the ability to limit your Omnipotence. What is meant by that? Think about this - Jesus - Jesus is the only reason you are not already dead and if not by now, you certainly would be in the Holy of Holies - the next Room of Mystery. God restrained Himself from following His plan of destroying all of those who sin by offering Himself fully as man to cover and forgive your sin. You might remember the very first piece of Tabernacle furniture you encountered on this Journey of Transition through the Three Dark Nights was the Brazen Altar - where sins are forgiven.
Restraint is an attribute of God that few consider. When God, as the Creator of all things you could wipe out all He hates, and make no mistake about it, God hates sin, it takes true power to restrain oneself.
THE CREATOR’S POWER OVER THAT WHICH HE CREATED
Yes, Omnipotence is not just about power to restrain oneself. Right on the tail of restraint is another aspect of Omnipotence that we seldom think about. You see, as the only creator, God knows the infinitesimally smallest thing about you - after all He made it. Inherent in that knowledge is how to take you apart and/or overpower you and He would not have to lift a finger to do it - He would simply think it and it would happen.
SUBTLE POWER
Another aspect of Omnipotence is that of subtle power. As mentioned above, subtle power is the ability to not even move a finger to cause anything to happen - just think it and at the speed of thought it is done. It makes one hope He does not think the wrong thought - and of course He won’t.
RAW POWER
Yet in consideration of the entirety of the above, there is still the aspect of Omnipotence that is spectacular and full of grandeur. That aspect is the expression of His power. Oh how we humans love that panoramic display of raw power. It is what you long to have. It draws the lost to Him, it overcomes the most hostile of spirits, it demolishes that which stands in His way. It is what heals the sick, raises the dead, cleanses the leper, and casts out every demon.
Raw power, it made Kings tremble when God’s people marched into their land. It would do so today - if only … . Well, that is why I write what I write. We have been so culturally anesthetized that we think the life we live is worthy of such endowment. Sadly, if God gave us that level of power today He would end up judging us tomorrow for the pride and arrogance we carried from the adulation of the people who so admire us they would do anything we asked just to be near us. It seems that long gone are the days when men of God tore their garments when the people thought too highly of them. But, that is another topic.
THE BREADTH OF OMNIPOTENCE
Like it or not, at the early and immature stages of our walk with God, it is the raw power of God that creates faith in our heart. Faith that we win, faith that the evil one will not overwhelm us, faith that in His power, God has created another home for us to forever reside in. As we mature, we do not lose that faith in His raw power, but our faith broadens to become more, far more than that. And when it does, we will truly become Romans eight - children of God - not just theoretical children of God. I fear that today we treat God’s power as theory or some level just shy of fact. That too is another topic - but it drives me to keep writing these posts. Some day, one day, we will cast off these cultural restraints and God will reveal His Deity at levels we cannot currently appreciate. It will take a passion, a self-discipline, and perseverance greater than most have to day to witness it.
Omnipotence? I am alive today because of it.

This really is a sad statement John Paul. So my question is: what is required of us to get us to that place? What are we doing that we shouldn’t be doing? What are we not doing that we need to be doing? When I read your statement I felt a great weight that God is waiting for us, not us waiting for God. I’m not looking for any shortcuts, just the cut-to-the-heart truth. Thank you for stirring us to go deeper.

I have to chuckle at your statement JP, for that is exactly how God wants to come to him, like a child. Come on, Father lets get on with it!

I just have to say that I would love to see a move of God where God is the only one that is exalted. I know that God flows through us and gives us gifts, but sometimes there is too much emphasis on the person that God is flowing through. If we could just focus on God and who he is, wouldn’t he remain? Why is it that a move of God ends with a fallen leader? Maybe, because people were looking too much to the person instead of to God. I can acknowledge that God flows through us to touch others. But some people take it too far, and that is when it becomes idolatry. Is it possible to see God come in such a way that he alone is exalted? Can any one of us even compare to God in his holiness? Lord, would you come and be exalted that people would not stop speaking about how wonderful you are? Lord, would you come and reveal yourself to us? You alone are worthy of all glory, honor and praise.

My frustration comes from the fact that though God withholds things from us it is because of our pride, but God is also the one who can soften or harden our hearts. While God holds back his power from us because of our pride isn’t it also his power that can remove the pride from us?
It seems the same mechanism that does miracles are also the same that changes the man whom God works through.
So if God wants us to fulfill Mark chapter 16 and the other versus of the great commision then it is God that has to remove the thing keeping us from it. It is clear to me why many church groups lose enough faith that miracles do not happen and some justify their sad postions with “The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away”
So it all must be a time issue (God’s timing maybe?). But then again why is time allowed to be exalted above those made in God’s image? (Humanity)
I believe when Jesus said “the days are evil” (Matthew 6:35) (Paul mentioned in Ephesians 5:16)he meant it litteraly. Perhaps even time itself is an evil spirit that the saints must overcome.
This is probably done through patience which is the most difficult fruit of the spirit. (longsuffering)

He tells you neat stuff. Does He tell you the mundane? (i.e. other than the 11th hour events and such) How I dream of hearing Him concerning certain things. Do you ever wish He would tell you certain things but doesn’t?

I remember during the internship I had in 2004 That God was speaking to people about random things, some big things, and some things to do with everyday life. I seem to recall John Paul saying God told him he needed to start opening the door for his wife like he used to.
That seems like a simple thing but God likes to pay attention to detail, especially relationships.

I prayed and sought God what I should do about The Art of Hearing God course. I felt instructed to order the correspondence course—which I did a couple of weeks ago.
I am looking forward to taking this course when it arrives. Have any of you completed this correspondence course yet? I pray I will gain the supernatural knowledge that people get when they attend the seminar in person.
God knows why He directs each of us to go here, there and yonder. May we each be faithful to fulfill and complete what He has called and chosen us to do.

He is delivering his chosen ones from everything that exalts itself above the knowledge of him. When he is done we will all be left with only Jesus. And that is where the power lies. As we continue on in simplicity with pure devotion to Jesus alone we will see the glory of God revealed through us. But remember that not everyone who says, “Lord, Lord..did we not do all these wonderful things will enter in. He will say, “Depart from me, I never knew you.” The serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field. He tries to get our eyes off Jesus. Stick to Jesus and you will be saved. Remember when you first were saved? You rejoiced with all your hearts about Jesus. You talked about him everywhere you went, telling everyone about Jesus, were even called crazy by your loved ones. Jesus was the center of your joy! Jesus was your first love! Are you still there today? or is now your words God this and God that? If so, you have left your first Love. Remember from whence you have fallen, and return! The serpant is still subtle! Jesus is your LORD and your GOD! be not deceived! God our Father said, This is my Beloved Son, Hear Him! John Paul has done a thorough job in his delivery of course content. Now, all he needs is to do it in real time on the Ning Social Network. A great way to do school online. I remember that kind of thing you are talking about. Someone i’ve heard call it the “honeymoon” time period. Its been my experience that as you come closer to Jesus your concerns are removed and replaced with his. His concern is about his bride.
In Georgia I attended a church who’s pastor was friends with John Kilpatrick, who at that time was the Pastor of Brownsville Assembly of God in Pensecola, Fla. We received a measure of the outpouring of God’s spirit which at times was so strong when you walked into the Sanctuary it was hard to stand up!
I feel your are concerned about many people who use the term “God” lightly but i’ll stand by what Jesus said: “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:5
And John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
I believe that.
Jesus is just as concerned about those that called us crazy as he is concerned about us who got called crazy.
Zeal isn’t a bad thing but maturity has to have room too.

I guess what you are saying is that we are in agreement. I am waiting patiently for what the Lord is doing. But as for understanding, I can’t lean on it and it is frustrating. I know he is purging us and getting us ready to contain a greater measure of his glory. And we wait, and we wait. “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.” Love, Holly
