The Overcoming Power of Prayer
“To him who overcomes …”
TWO OTHER SPICES
There are two other spices listed as part of the five spices to be equally measured and blended together; those two are pure frankincense and salt.
Pure Frankincense - its Hebrew name is Levonah and it means, white light that whitens. It is symbolic for the purification of our sins. Remember, on the Table of Shewbread there was frankincense burning in a bowl on top of he bread. It has been found that burning frankincense helps to alleviate anxiety and depression. It also repels insects, as such it is thought that frankincense keeps spiritual pests away that are sent by the evil one to distract us from our goal of praying. On top of all of that, frankincense amplifies sound, so the prayers we make are in essence amplified. It was present both at the birth of Jesus, and the crucifixion of Jesus.
Salt - Scripture calls for the tempering of the spices. Tempering means to add salt. Salt heals the wound, kills the germs, and is a preservative. You, as the salt of the earth, do this every day. So in a manner of speaking you are offering all the good you have done back to God. Yes, I know it is the Holy Spirit flowing through and from you that does it all - nice religious answer, but God’s Spirit flows through and around you. This is one of the “ways of God.”
PERPETUAL PRAYER
Just as the incense was to perpetually burn, we are to walk in an “attitude of prayer not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer.” (Romans 12:11-12)
Each day the priest would chip off a small part of the block of compacted incense. He would then crush it to a fine powder and pour it over the hot coals on the Golden Altar in order to release the fragrant aroma inherent in the smoke.
BURNING COALS AND FIREY TRIALS
Burning coals, like fiery darts, represent the trials you face daily. Carry that thought one step further, and you see the heat from those coals of the moment release your prayers. Without heat, prayers are not released. In some mysterious way, crisis seems to drive you to God. In that search for God, you overcome that which sought to destroy you.
JESUS CONQUERED THE COALS TO ARISE
These coals represent the moment before Jesus ascended to the Father. Before He ascended, He first descended to the place of the coals (Sheol) and preached to those there the good news of who He was. He overcame the burning coals to rise to the Father. This is another reason why the smoke is such a sweet aroma to the Father, it also represents your overcoming the trials of this Earth that the enemy attempts to use to destroy your faith. Said another way - you have overcome!
ETERNAL TIME FRAMES
Notice, Jesus ascended to the Father before He did so on the Mountain in Matthew 28. How do you know that? Because, He told Mary not tot touch Him because He had not yet ascended to the Father. Then, a short time later, He allowed the women who were on their way to report to the others that He had risen from the dead to touch Him. In that short time span, Jesus had ascended to the Father and returned.
When one enters into the Eternal realm there is no time, thus God can send you back into this time at the same moment He took you. Eternally speaking, a thousand years in Eternity can take one earthly second. Said another way, a thousand years on earth is as a day with God.
Here are some Promises of God to you.
- “To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7
- “He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.” Revelation 2:11
- “To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” Revelation 2:17
- “And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations.” Revelation 2:26
- “He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” Revelation 3:5
- “He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God.” Revelation 3:12
Be encouraged!
Blessings,
John Paul

To him who overcomes, the Last Supper is a type of Marraige Supper of the Lamb; it marks a timeline in the church age, wasn’t the bridal dowry paid in the death of the Son Jesus, he will be afforded intimate knowledge of the Lord God none in the parallel universes will ever know except the Wife of His bosom. Thus he knows the Father and the Son. The Spirit will be given in a greater manner to reveal the God of all! In this place of abiding in Christ, none knew except the Wife of the Lamb, you can ask for anything in the universe and it shall be granted to you as His Wife, even to half His kingdom! Talk about knowing God!
Anyway the above was from John 14-15. Why do you want to marry Jesus? The scripture John 14-15 will give you a glimpse of what’s in store for the Bride who becomes Wife of the Lamb. The Manchild is the heritage of the Bride http://www.prophecies.org. I want to marry Him because i want to know God.
This is an amazing insight! I am astonished at this connection you have made.
This is the revelation of the final “missing piece” of the metaphorical puzzle of prayer - hidden in plain sight for all these years.
I can see clearly now, the rain has gone.
All of the dark clouds have disappeared.
Gone are the grey skies, that had me blind.
It’s gonna be a bright, bright metaphorical day!

That’s crazy. I’ve never seen that before. I had to read that a few times over before I got that one. It’s revelation gems like that that help me to appreciate God more. He is so amazing.
I am 5 feet tall (60 inches). JESUS says HE can make me an overcomer and a pillar in HIS temple.
Thank you JESUS for YOUR power and the message of the cross that girds me up to stand “tall and firm” in YOUR Kingdom as I yield to YOU.
As I spend time in prayer and in the fire— being refined as silver and having the dross removed from the gold, teach me YOUR secrets on how to become an overcomer in all these areas. I don’t want to fall short.
Hallelujah!!!
Linda
is there any reason why the bowl with the frankinsense is above the bread
It takes prayer for the healing of the Bread to happen.
John Paul:
What do you mean by “healing of the bread”? I know that Jesus is the bread of life. Are we bread too? Or, did you mean body?
I am a little lost with that statement. I went back to reread the post and it posed a question. I understand the prayer part but not the healing of the bread, umm. I guess I need to pray further into this mystery.
Peace & Blessings

Hey JP & rest of the gang, I had question/thought. Is everything we say a prayer? I know some prayer is not spoken. However, Jesus said that whatever we do to the least, we are doing to Him. In other words, whatever we do to another, we are doing to Him. As well, He hears everything we say & He is with us always. Is this a way of “practicing” the presence of Jesus, & therefore is prayer? When I’ve thought this way, I change the way I treat others, I think of what I am doing as if I am doing it to Jesus. But is it prayer?
does it have to do with spiritual covering ?
Please see the posts on the Table of Shewbread. This bread is the Body of Christ and even the crumbs heal and set people free. It is not only healing, it is provision on all levels for sustenance.
I have been a little discouraged. I have been trying to understand why I am in this resting time—it has been going on for several months…I have called it a spiritual sabbatical not knowing what else to call it.
Today, as I was reading Day 8 of Chuck Pierce’s new 40 day daily devotion something popped out to me. He was saying “this is the time to move into your pause (selah)…Your “pause” will lead you into your new field.”
Hallelujah!!! I am in Selah time and I don’t need to feel guilty or purposeless. God is leading me somewhere ordained by Him, even if I am not doing anything productive to the natural eye for His kingdom.
I will encourage myself in Him,
Linda
Amen, thank you for the clarification, John Paul. I truly believe that the bread is the Body of Christ too and you are right when you say that even the crumbs set people free. Has anyone ever taken communion directly from heaven in Dr Kaye Beyers ministry, we have and were very blessed. I felt different in my innermost being when I partook of the bread from heaven then from communion on the earth’s side. God is going to do this more and more directly from heaven in the coming days. I believe that God is using John Paul to prepare the Body of Christ for future communion manifestations. God is so good. As I am writing this, I am smelling the awesome smoke of His Presence within my nostrils and as I write this, I believe that it is a prayer that has gone up to the throne room. Be Blessed John Paul and the rest of the blog family.

Sometimes the bread has been wounded, but you were unaware of it—-until the fire came and you realized at some point you had been hit…
This afternoon I heard the still small voice say “For I will restore health to you, and heal you of your wounds, says the Lord.” Jeremiah 30:17
This applies to all of us.
Bring on the soothing balm!
Linda
Wow, what a full circle I have come! I wrote the following in January 2008:
“It is odd to blog here and be one who is “wanting.” I know after this year I am not strong enough to be an ‘overcomer.’ I had always thought myself so strong. I’m not a very good Job.”
I had chosen the name “One of Those” because I thought I was one of those who fell by the wayside to be lost. I would say that it is by God’s grace, goodness, faithfulness, and compassion that I am now able to call myself an overcomer. May my life exude and be an example of His faithfulness. Now I am one of those who is an overcomer.
I find it amazing at how this blog post has weaved its way back to the Table of Shewbread, just yesterday I heard the spirit say “increase communion to break through the veil”, and then today a confirmation word was given “breaking through the veil”.
May we all break through the veil.
Wow, great posts. I didn’t now you could go back.
thanks loads
Six “overcomes”, meaning, man must overcome? Eight in total, of like manner in the same book, meaning transition?
Revelation was my favourite book when I was a child, and I really enjoyed reading those promises…Today, the challenge is much more real and the promises closer - how much more does the future hold…
This is “fearfully” good!
Hello,
Ugh, I liked! So clear and positively.

John Paul,
I know you have staff that is committed to pray for you.
Do you have a specific group of intercessors that pray for you? How would I go about praying specific prayers for you and your ministry? Are there certain qualifications to be one of your intercessors?
I am available to pray,
Linda
For those of you who would like to pray for me and what God has called me to do, you may Kari Pavlovsky at the Streams Ministries offices.

Peace, mercy and grace be upon you,John Paul and brethren true,as you continue to dilligently seek the truth(as well as accuracy)in regards to all things,as revealed by and in accordance with the Pure,Holy Spirit of Truth,Grace and Wisdom Divine found only in and through Christ Jesus,in Whom resides all authority, power and glory.
In regards to the Eternal Time Frames you speak of in this post,I find it most intriqueing that you refer to this particular event in time, that being where Mary is chosen to be the very firstfruit among the brethren to be eyewitness to the Resurrected Christ..our Redeemer..praise His Name!
It is due to the fact that of all the times my spirit has been taken ‘beyond time’ to either witness an event of great importance from the past for further clarification or an event looming upon the horizon that is obviously of some great importance to the survival of the very elect of the Most High God,this one in particular has given me the most pause thus far.
I became impressed with the necessity to wait upon God for His reasons for presenting me with this mystical event that brought many more questions to my heart and mind, which I realized,at some cost,Satan was determined to mess up in whatever way he could devise, being ever ready to answer for me lest I be willing to patiently wait on God ,submitting the entire experience back to Him,testing the spirit, sensing in a very real way that in this event lay much mystery..something that was of such critical importance ,yet had been lost for a time, due to the deeply entrenched religious traditions of men.
I must clear the phone line for my father’s home at this juncture… must disengage for now. I felt you would be interested…even though there will be a small correction to your teaching as posted.
Dennis,
I have been pondering what you said in this blog.
I don’t know the answers to your questions fully.
I believe the Holy Spirit judges the actions and motives of the heart. Your thoughts and words can be life or condemnation and death.
Someone might cry out “JESUS!” and that one word is a profound prayer that moves the Hand of God to action…
Someone else might cry out “JESUS!” and it is a derogatory remark slandering all that is Holy.
I think there have been some people whose lives have been so consecrated and hidden in Him, that their lives do reflect continual prayer no matter what they are doing…That is a place to aim for. The Holy Spirit is our Helper who can help us reach that place where our lives do become His habitation.
Longing for Your continual Presence,
Linda
John Paul,
I just saw your Perfect Storm last night. I am of Jacob’s Generation. God is talking to me! I saw your ring on your finger and a little over a week ago Jesus gave me one of those rings but it was smaller (woman’s version?) I don’t know how else to contact you but I am curious about the story behind your ring. When He gave it to me I rolled my hand over to look at it and He told me it was His blood. I am waiting to see how to use it. Any insight for me or references I should look up? Thank you in advance. I am going to dive into your books!

Great great and great…God bless you all. HE’s good.
have been in meetings where it seemed you could smell these spices, intriguing, wish for those days to return.
Thank you for adding the archive categories for the journey we have been taking. It is good to look back and see points that I missed the first time around.
You have some faithful followers who have been blogging with you a long time. God blesses stick-to-itveness…
God bless all of you and enjoy your long Labor Day weekend!!!
Love to y’all (you guys),
Linda
Thank you, John Paul, for your encouragement. And to those who have posted, you thoughts encourage me, too.
The ring on my hand is one I saw in a dream, then a week later a friend gave the ring to me. The red stone represents wisdom and redemption.
I’ve been pondering on “vision” the last few days. In June of 1996 a series of major attacks came to my “christian” family within 2-3 days. The strangest thing happened to me. God took me out of the warfare and put me in a bubble.
During the next two weeks, God downloaded over 25 chapters of a 20th century fictional account of an episode from the Bible. God told me to put the manuscript on a shelf in my closet. It remained there a year, then God told me to toss it out.
This was not “The Great American Novel” people dream of writing. I had never even thought of writing a book. The thing is I kept remembering that it is the “sequel” to the book that is important…
I was thinking about that account I wrote–I don’t even have a copy–but it hit me the other day that hidden in all the words I had written was a “vision” for my life for a certain season that God was releasing through some key points.
Now I am at the door for the “sequel” or second stage to unfold—even though I have not written anything out and I don’t have a title. New and fresh vision is coming. I just have to discern what it is.
Let me hear Your voice Lord!!!
Linda
Hey Everybody,
It has been a long week-end here in the outdoors. I have noticed that I am given times of aches and pains and anxiety and depression and even have the actual pesty insects biting me before my heart goes deep into God. Sometimes there is just groaning at this point. But to know that this mystery of suffering is bringing an eternal weight of glory and knowing that Jesus is Pure Love, and Pure Light —we wait. Also knowing that as we minister to others as the salt of the earth we are elevating our fellow travelers in the Spirit is comforting. The one element we have to remember about all this, is that without faith it is impossible to please him. It is all done by faith. Thank you for the reassurance that soon we will be entering the holy of holies. This is where we all long to be and are paying the price. It cost him everything and it certainly is very costly perfume. JP thanks! I have been taken away from all the illusions of this world. It is very real where I live. You have provided the food for my spirit during this time. Thank you. Holly
Searching the Scriptures we also saw yesterday where Jesus met Mary after the resurrection and how he had not yet ascended. And then as she went off to tell the disciples she met Jesus on the road and then was able to fall at his feet and worship him. It is beautiful how the chosen are being brought to life through revelation. Jesus chose Mary Magdelene as a first fruit and many of us are also being blessed in this way. I bless the wonderful and awesome plan of God my Father today and all of you. Love, Holly
Jesus is the Last Adam. Jesus, went willingly into darkness. The first Adam, the scriptures say in 1st Timothy 2 14 that Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. If Adam was not deceived then why did he do it? Just as the last Adam, he too, went willingly into darkness and went in to be with her. His motive was Love. The last Adams motive was Love also.
GOD had a plan already set in motion before HE created the garden of Eden…….. The LAMB was slain from the foundation of the world for all of us “Adams” who would be in need of the SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST down through the centuries of time. That is mind boggling!!!
How do we begin to comprehend a FATHER GOD who loved us that much!?!
Hello,
I wanted to get some insight and feedback about the upcoming Halloween holiday. I have two prophetic children, Samuel(4) and Elijah (3). I wanted to take them trick or treating this year but instead of using that night to glorify the enemy, I wanted to hand out candies to the children we pass with a small word of encouragement from the Lord inside each candy bag that we hand out. Any thoughts about this would be AWESOME! I want to take back this night and be a candle in Darkness!
The whole frankinsence thing must of been way cool for Jesus, to get a gift that repels mosquitos, and smells good at the same time.
