Absorbing the Light II
“The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD,
Searching all the inner depths of his heart.” Prov. 20:27
I mentioned in my last posting that the light you are standing in front of is adding something to you – that something is light. Before you proceed, it is good to step back and take note that this is the first time in this journey through the tabernacle that something has been given or added to you.
THE PLACES OF REMOVAL
Up to this point each piece of furniture has removed something from you. The Brazen Altar removed your sin, the Brazen Laver removed the stains, spots, and blemishes of that sin, and the Table of Showbread daily removes affliction and infirmity. However, here under the scrutiny of the Light, all that is left to be dealt with are the small cracks from the pain that darkness has dealt you.
Cracks aren’t removed, they are sealed, polished and the vessel is now made new. Cracks in you life such as, bitterness, envy, malice, anger, jealousy, wrath, and others are being rubbed out by the merciful hand of the Lord. As this happens, you are being totally renovated, regenerated and made new. Containers that have cracks leak and therefore have to be sealed before they are filled. This ‘sealing’ is the final step to becoming a container of His glory. “Christ in you the hope of glory,” is more than a New Testament proverb, it is a reality – or will be if you do not quit.
STARTING THE ADDITION PROCESS
From now on nothing will be taken away, and many assets will be added to you. Your hunger has driven you as you have made your way across the room to the Lampstand or candlestick of the Lord. The seven flames from the candlestick before you are pouring light into your eyes and entering your spirit. God is light and this light before you is only lit by Him and therefore this Light is from His Light. This is what the Psalmist was referring to when he was inspired to pen, “In Your light we see light” Psa. 36:9b.
THE FUEL FOR LIGHT
So the first attribute that is added to you is light. However, light does not last forever; just ask the five foolish virgins (MT. 25). It takes oil, and oil is the Holy Spirit. The five wise virgins took an additional amount of oil with them, just in case they ran out. You must always seek to be ‘being’ filled with oil. Light reveals, but oil empowers and you long to be empowered.
It was the oil of the Holy Spirit that empowered Jesus to do the works of the Father (MT. 12:28). Yet, oil that is just sitting in a vessel does little until it is ignited by fire. This is precisely what happened on the day of Pentecost. Though they did not know exactly why they were to stay in the upper room, for ten days the disciples sat there ‘being’ filled with oil, then – wham, the wind of God came and brought fire with it.
THE NEED FOR THE FLAME
In a nano second of time, each person in the room had fire above their heads. The oil was present, the fire was lit and they were now empowered to do the works of the Father. The explosive nature of the Holy Spirit had done its work! Perhaps this gives new meaning to what Jesus said, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.” Just as God ignited the Lampstand, He ignited the oil in His disciples – He will ignite you as well. Thus it was said by John the Baptist that Jesus would “baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with Fire” (Matthew 3:11).
HOW MUCH IS FULL?
So, I can hear you saying, “But I already have the Holy Spirit.” So did Jesus when the Spirit drove him into the wilderness. He had just been baptized by John, and the Holy Spirit came upon Him like a Dove out of Heaven. However, it wasn’t until Jesus returned from the forty days of fasting and the temptation of Satan, that it was written, “Jesus returned in the power of the Holy Spirit” (Luke 4:14). Do you currently have that type of power?
Perhaps it is time for you to passionately desire a greater measure of the Holy Spirit of the Living God. Perhaps the role of the Holy Spirit in the Life of Jesus and in you has been underestimated? Perhaps it is your lack of oil and fire that keeps you from doing the very things you long to do? Perhaps you have lost the understanding of what being “filled with the power of the Spirit” means? There are a lot of “perhaps’s” – far too many to cover here. But, you do not have to know them all to get the fire ignited again.
Maybe you aren’t too sure how to get more oil and how to get the fire ignited? Be at peace, standing here, you are closer than you might think.
Blessings,
John Paul

Well, I just want to say that you are right on track with this one. I am very excited about what I was feeling in the Spirit today. It is really hard to keep this to myself. I just want to proclaim what God is about to do. But, I have learned that I can’t say everything that God is showing me because people get upset. So, I am just waiting in expectancy for what is about to be released. Thank you for your ministry.
Many Blessings
“The merciful ‘hand’ of the Lord” - I had this incredible dream last night. I was in this room with other intercessors and the ‘hand of God’ was hovering/moving over each individual that was in the room.
As I was watching the ‘hand’ it was as if light was pouring forth out of this hand and I could see the people that were in the room because of this light. This ‘hand’ came to me and took my hand. I could feel my hand gripping this hand as light was pouring out of this hand - into me. The intense presence of the Lord filled the room that I was in, and I awoke!!
Please explain what this means: “The merciful ‘hand’ of the Lord.”
I thought at some point that I would stop posting comments on this blog but, I just can’t stop. I’m actually addicted to reading this blog, (I think that’s probably a good thing). I just keep getting more and more hungry for the presence of God in my life. So, here I am again writing another comment… Like my good intercessor friend Suzette use to say, “More Lord!”

Shirley writes:
Ok, John Paul, this is so wild that you wrote this. I had a dream last night that I confronted somebody who had the spirit of control in other words witchcraft. Judging from the content that was a part of the dream and prior knowledge that I had about the person before the dream happened. Actually in the dream, she was revealing to me that she was in charge of the church whenever the Pastor goes away and that it is time to listen to her now (I am still in the dream at this point) so in the dream, I took authority over the spirit of control operating through her in the name of Jesus and simply reminded her that she was assuming a position of authority that she really didn’t have and then, I took authority against the spirit of witchcraft, that was over her. I reminded her that the true authority rests in Jesus working through the authority of the Pastor for this congregation and that she was being deceived and under the influence of the evil one. So after, that particular conversation and confrontation in the dream, the dream shifted to a building with a construction scaffold. A voice from behind me told me to climb the scaffold as high as I can. So I did. Then I got to the top and the building disappeared. The only thing left was me and the scaffold. The wind was blowing a bit, and I held onto the scaffold for dear life, I thought I was going to fall, and then the same voice said to me I won’t let you fall because I have you don’t worry. All of a sudden the scaffold appeared to be unsteady and moving with the wind, but I didn’t fall off but felt that if someone did not come to rescue me soon, I was going to fall to my death. And then the thought came to me in the dream to call 911, as soon as I thought about it, the fire trucks came and I was wondering who called because all I did was think about calling and the fireman and the fire trucks came. Who told them to come? Was the question and then one of the fireman somehow showed up. so they came to my rescue trucks and all and then one of the fireman somehow made their way to me without a ladder and I am thinking to myself, how did he do that because it appeared to me that this scaffold is very high and unsteady for anyone else because it can barely hold me, so i thought. So when the fireman finally gets to me, he asked me, why were I was so afraid of the height of the scaffold and didn’t I know that I wouldn’t get hurt if I jumped off because the distance between the top of the scaffold and the ground was only 3 ft high and that if I stayed where i was, i would have been just fine one way or the other, but now we are here for you and we are going to help you. And shortly after those words, I felt a surge of peace come into my heart and i simply said ok, and then I woke up! Is the fire man the power of the Holy Spirit? This is so strange, that you are writing this shortly after I had the dream. Well, enough said, I’ll welcome the fireman sent from heaven and the authority he represents….God is so awesome how he surprises us!
Blessings!

“Maybe you aren’t too sure how to get more oil and how to get the fire ignited?”
I guess there are lots of answers for this one - But I thank you for your answer beforehand…
God Bless!
Lyle’s dream reminds me of an event that occurred over 30 years ago. While sitting in church one morning, I “saw” the hand and forearm of the Lord extended over the congregation. Rather than it being flesh and blood and bone, it seemed to be comprised of living love and the composition of the hand/arm was in continual motion. It seemed to be extended in blessing over the people. There was a transparency in it that was not of this world. Hand of mercy? Perhaps. My earthly vocabulary doesn’t always seem sufficient to describe the things of the spirit.
There’s More! That’s what I like about God. He always keeps things moving. I want that oil, I need more of the Holy Spirit, and the Fire. I can honestly say I dont really think I’ve experience His fire, but I’m feeling warmer and I know it’s around the corner.
John Paul;
I have read some of your books and have been for some time desiring to go to your schooling. Being 68yrs old sometimes is I think maybe to old but I am reminded that what God can do in a day would take some people a life time. My wife and I have been walking with the Lord for over 25yrs. and feel a deeper calling that what we have been doing. She is a prayer warrior and I love teaching or sharing about the Lord. We both have lots of dreams and probably could use some understanding on them. We feel that we understand some of them but would like to have someone else who may be more experienced help us. There is much that I would like to share but I know that your are a very very busy person and don’t have time for every person that comes to you. If you could put is in touch with some we could spend some time with and explain what we seem to understand and truly believe that it is from God but don’t know where to go from here. We feel that maybe we are at a blind spot or perhaps in the wrong place? Ahy suggesting would be helpful. We live in Danville Kentucky near Lexington Ky. God Bless Lloyd & Vickie
Now you are speaking and that’s our world - heaven. Only God and the spiritual makes sense. Of course we need the mind of Christ to comprehend heaven’s culture. Its right yet its not right but its still right - like God speaking. I hope i am right on this.
Matthew 23:9-10 may shed some light on the Word, the heart of the Father. He talks and the carnal can’t comprehend Him but He is rightly judged in the Spirit.
9 Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10 And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ.
Surely you yourself know you have done these things, only God speaks like that. Even elders are fathers, there are teachers around too… Seems like you have left the earth and you think out of this dimensional world like heaven.

and when you spoke about the oil and the fire, it captured me and gave me a picture I can understand.
thank you John Paul
As light enters; our minds change. We see things in a way that we’ve never seen before. I see my brokenness as well as areas of wholeness, failures as well as successes, times of great joy as well as times of pain and sorrow, times when I’ve experienced rejection and times of experiencing great acceptance and Love. All of these have brought me to the place that I’m at today.
There are no longer ‘events’ that I would choose to forget or even those that I would like to remember – all have played an integral part in my life. “ALL that HAPPENS to us, is working for our good” (Romans 8:28 TLB)
For years every time I would recall negative things that happened in my life, there was a noticeable pain associated with the memory. I can now look back and see God’s merciful hand at work in the midst of it all – the good and the bad – the only difference is NOW, there’s no longer any pain associated with the memory. Only thankfulness, for the way that God has taken those negative experiences, and through them, brought me into this new place of understanding.
Indeed, HE is a Merciful God!
Dear John Paul:
I am a little baffled about the term and how you use “Chaos” to talk about the things of God when it literally means primal emptiness in space which is definitely opposite of “cosmos” which is defined as an orderly and harmonious system. If God is the maker and creator of the heaven’s and the earth and placed all of the stars in motion and in their place, than why so much emphasis on “Chaos” instead of “Cosmos”. My thinking and belief is that the subject that one speaks on the most will eventually bring on the very nature of what is talked about. In other words, if too much emphasis is placed on teaching about “Chaos” and darkness then “Chaos” and darkness is what will happen in people’s lives. But if more emphasis was placed on living in the Glory of the Lord, where the Lord sets people’s lives in order to accomplish the greater purposes of God, then Godly order and all the blessings that follow will be the end result. Sometimes, too much emphasis is placed on the darkness instead of the light of Christ in this blog and what “HE”, YAHWEH wants to do in our midst. Its time that we change our mindset and have it line up with what the Lord wants to do, through HIS people, who are called by HIS NAME, who are professing the Kingdom of God and of His Son, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ upon this earth. Let’s emphasis how God wants to bring divine order to this wonderful earth that HE has created. We are not ambassador’s of darkness, we are ambassador’s of HIS Kingdom. There needs to be more teaching related to our role as Christ ambassadors upon the earth and how to live it out in time and eternity, in order to produce the good fruit. So, sorry if this sounds a bit critical, but the zietgeist is right to write about this. In other words, it is timely because of the state of affairs that exists right now in the heart and mind of mankind. Have a blessed day!
In His Love,
Shirley C.
One day in the courts of the Lord, is like a thousand days elsewhere.
Shirley C.
Well Shirley, I would like to comment on your comment about chaos. Obviously I am not here to do John Paul justice, because I would fall short of that
But I would like to say what I have understood about that…
Before cosmos can be formed, there must be chaos or there will be no space to work in (using your definition of chaos as “primal emptiness in space”). Notice how chaos is referred to as Divine chaos…so I beleive, God first deposes what is, through Divine chaos, in order to form a place that He can then pour Himself and of Himself into, and where He can be present and manifest and rule…
So I think it’s not about darkness or dark light, but about emptiness that creates space, for Him to fill and abide in…
This has been my understanding of it…
God Bless!
Oh, I forgot to say…there is more to it, though…Listen to the Divine Chaos series and I think you will see a bit better what I am saying…
I’m not saying that is the only way you will understand it…but take a listen…
God Bless…
At the end of the day we’re not in this blog to impose our beliefs or to write long thesis’ but to learn and meditate on the teaching here … our comments should be short and shared with respect, after all this is not OUR blog!!
Blessings
yea - thank you.
