Coffee Talk with John Paul Jackson coming
Beginning January 1, 2008 I am going to start blogging. I have had many people ask me to share my ideas, musings, questions and more. This is what Coffee Talk is about. It is random thoughts that I have. I’ll be writing from airports, hotels, and even once in a while from home - like now. So things may be brief, and scattered as my thumbs and my iPhone are not coordinated yet, but I think you will be interested.
I love challenging others to think differently about what they read in the Bible. I call this, “reading the white.” While I know we can read too much into things, it is only by thinking differently that we can see, do or become that which we have never seen, never done, and become that which God created us to be. I somehow feel the church, with few exceptions, is mired in mediocrity. What will it take to change that? I am also struck with what lies ahead. My head swirls between the tension and the hope that pundits and prophets speak of. Not all pundits agree and surprisingly not all prophets agree - this gives me pause to ask why? Shouldn’t prophets agree when they speak for God?
Well, this is the type of thought process I go through and I want to share some of those thoughts with you. See you at Coffee Talk on Jan 1, 2008.
Blessings,
John Paul

I’m looking forward to your blob chats and always interested in anything you say and write.
Yes, churches are not just in mediocrity, but many have left their pentecostal roots for watered down charismatic
churches.
I wonder if they know a big Holy Spirit revival is coming?
Blessings,
Myra

This is how I feel! oh my gosh… some one else has these, maybe we shouldn’t talk about questions too! I feel we are in such a strategic time. I see the Lord repositioning people and things for what is ahead. This place of now and not yet has been so intense… I pray that 2008 will bring some release.
My thoughts exactly after reading a site where there is such. I would suppose man in his imperfect ways would not clearly know the exact outcome or the specifics lest they themselves are looked upon as “God.” But I can’t help but ask, “wouldn’t it be nice….to know, to set our hearts and minds at ease. But then we would find ourselves less dependent on hearing from God ourselves for our own situations and more dependent on others. Though does not God use others to speak to us also….such as the prophet? Hmmm…..I myself must spend more time with His word and allowing Him to speak to me and know whatever the outcome He is still in control no matter what the picture may look like.
I am so happy to see your blog John Paul, as we do appreciate your thoughts and revelations that you come across in your “quiet” times.
Thanks again and may God bless you, your family, and your ministry!
I thank you for sharing your thought process, I often wonder about the balance a leader must have to go thru..Seeing the power of God move and then every day life steps in..The training place is in the everyday…and you being so transparent is so needed in the body of Christ..I respect and pray for you and your ministry..You have even been in my deams..spiritually..and I am on my spirtual toes to hear the Holy Spirit,And follow His leading…keep up the blogging it is refreshing!
Dear Man of God
You Have a rare ministry that peopIe of Africa can not afford to miss it
I am really excited that you started these bloggings, I am actually going to bookmark this page, and enjoy coming back from time to time. I personally have tired of hearing from so many of the prophetic voices about the ‘greatest revival of all time that is coming” when they all are missing it as it happens before their eyes.
I beleive we are in the time of your bleecher vision. I also am very thankful for your integrity. I look forward to hearing your ‘reading of the white’ as I love that terminology and I beleive it fits completely into how we should read the scriptures..
I have asked God in the past when you were going to be allowed to start speaking of much deeper things because I love your messages, but most of all, I love what has yet been unspoken. When I saw you for the first time ‘live’ at a conference in NJ. I was amazed at the depth of the unspoken.. and it was driving me crazy that it wasn’t time to tap into all of that on the corporate level.. but I understand that Gods timing is far better than mine, and that I will continue to seek him on my own to teach me deeper things that are not being spoken of right now.
with total gratitude and thanksgiving, i say, “thank you” for sharing your life, thank you for sharing your learnings, and your musings from your journey.
blessings!
That is so true - shouldn’t prophets agree if they are all hearing from the same God? What about when you get personal words from different prophets that are completely contradictory to each other!!!!!! Well, after a period of deciding to just discard the prophetic altogether (and I have to say that I still go there occasionally) - I think it is better to hear the word and judge it by that inner witness inside of us. It is quite amazing that since I gave this back to the Lord - this prophetic speaking into my life - that when I get a word from someone or even a dream interpretation from someone that is not from the Lord, I get this deep, aching “no” inside my gut. God is faithful, even when his people are not or even when we/they just miss it from our own human-ness.
God is Truth with many facets& dimensions.I think that is where some forget and it can cause rifts with one another. Like a coin. You see one picture looking at it,but the person on the other side of it see’s a totally different picture. It is still truly a coin but each would fight that what they have been shown is true. They just had a part that was revealed and saw it to be a coin. Both were shown similtaneously between the two but because they did not see all sides (the whole picture)they could not see how it could all still come together and even in the same setting or same time. Many facets still come together to make a stone. God is able to bring what He says to different ones in different ways still all at the same time and place even if we just don’t see how it could be possible we still just see in part usually our own part. Let’s find the thing we can agree on (Jesus) and have grace for one another looking for what part of Jesus’s expression might be showing through what our eyes are gazing at. As long as we keep our eyes on Jesus we will never miss Him He will keep us straight and we will make it.Hopefully helping one another to see Him in the moment, space and time so that we won’t be deceived.
Hi john pauli find these comments so refreshing , challenging, and i feel so nervous in my tummy, however it s so true everything of what you say about serving others , but lets not mix it with duty bound, for when we come to this place it awesome , to want to give Gods love away ,yea its costly your life is never the same again ut oh the joy of this amazing love that he gives to us so that we can give to others , i guess thats why i feel a little nervous because i am no longer in control therefore i really have to trust in my wonderful beautiful father , is it any wonder we are constantly in prayer we are like little children who needs to be guided , well its like that for me anyway , keep on blogging , its great encouragement and oh how the world needs encouragement especailly when our eyes and ears have been opened we sure see and hear a lot.
Karen, I enjoyed your blog today.
Have you ever read Hannah Hurnard’s book, “Hinds Feet on High Places” ? The main character, Much Afraid, is “crippled” but she takes a step of faith and begins a journey following the shepherd’s (JESUS) leading. As she meets and conquers the obstacles, she gains hinds feet that will carry her to the high places. The odd stones she has picked up along the way–become jewels. She is transformed into Grace and Glory.
All of us have been crippled in areas of our life—As we learn to trust HIM and let HIM lead us–HIS transformation takes place in us.
Karen, GOD told me tell you (little “i”) that HE sees you as (big “I”). HIS SON is in you and you are a daughter of the KING!!!
Reaching forth for grace and glory alongside you,
Linda
PS> John Paul, excuse me for referring to a book that
